Hey...

i'm afraid upto now i've been a bit of a vauxhall fanatic but i sold a clean gsi astra few months back wit hope of buyin a nice 325i sport but cudnt find one when i was offered a very very mint and total vauxhall featured cav turbo, 205 brake, 4 wd, 6spd box and a dump valve has been fun for a few months but i think it cud well be time to change again back to my original plan.

Now beginnin to consider an m3 e30 aswell as the 325 i sport but don't really know a lot about either...can someone point me out on wat to look for and reliability issues etc i realise all e30 m3's are left hand drive (unless converted) and i doubt i cud afford to buy/insure the evo models but wat is the average price of a sound e30 m3?

any other advice or pointers feel free to add

thnx guys/gals

You should try using the search facility as well as wait for replies here.

Anyway,

Both cars are very reliable as long as you buy one thats been cared for.

The M3 is the more delicate of the two and costs alot more to maintain.

The bigest issue here is RUST in both cars.

The problem is made worse when buying a sport because the bodykit hides all the areas that can rust.

I would say decide which one you want to buy first, do your research into it and buy one. Then look into the other one.

I'd say buy the M3 first then see if you really like feel the need to buy a 325i.

Personally I would rather not buy the sport, use the funds to buy a real amazing upgraded M3 with 230+ bhp.

Welcome to our World!

is this going to be your only or everyday car ?

if so then the sport "could" be more suited.

Its more refined and comfortable.

However the M3 is summit else when it comes to handling

causing havoc and mayhem wherever i go

Oi m00k stop copying me! LOL If you guys saw his Astra you wouldnt be putting it down. It was at least as clean as mine which was very clean and looked gorgeous.

As said above this gets asked all the time on here so have a quick search through E30 Chat and you should find all the info. :)

I'll sell you my Sport when its rebuilt if you want! :P

yeah i carried out a search on the forum but was lookin for a kinda of buyers guide..

i realise the m3 wud be a lot higher maintenance but the cav is pretty high aswell...tire rotations regular etc servicin every 4k, at the minute cars are only holdin my attention for around 6 months at a time so i need summat to get me hooked to hold onto it :D

it wud b my everyday car but i have the long distance of 1 mile to travel to work

here's a few pics of past cars corsa was a bit boy racer but it got it outta my system lol

My only comment is that carrying out lots of short journeys may not be too good for the engine, though I'm sure someone can clarify that in more depth. If it's only a mile, walk/bike, save on engine wear and petrol costs.

Lots of short journeys, worst thing you can do to a car. Well apart from driving off a cliff or fitting a mecanno rear spoiler.

Finding decent 325 sports seems to be difficult.

yeah i know short journey's arent gd :-( but there's never any thrashin or high revvin if it sees over 2.5k its rare thing is its 1mile by car as its 1motorway junction to the next but to walk its a crazy tour thru some housing estates a park and moster hills industrial estates etc :(

i'll worry about that when i get a car lined up...jus tryin to do my homework now so i know wat ot look out for and wat i'm gettin myself into

as for the corsa lights bak in the day i liked em and they were different...but i eventually sold em and replaced the standards which i never regretted...still loved the wee car...were the only set of polished speedlines in NI for over a year and the cage etc bein so low...got quite a bit of attention :D but an e30 m3 ;-) i cud get usedd to that!!

it is not good for a car not to get up to temp, the moisture doesnt get a chance to be dried out the exhaust for a start so the exhuast wont last long..
