Its pretty straightforward.

On a cool engine, pop of the two rubber hoses by the stat housing (on the block, not rad), you will loose some coolant (I don't think there's any need to drain the whole system). The thermostat housing is held on by 3x13mm bolts (I think they are 13mm) undo those, take out the old stat, clean all mating faces, re-fit the new stat with new rubber O ring on the block, refit the housing. Open the bleed valve on the top of the rad, fill up the system, you will see bubbles come out of the bleed valve, once it seems level, start the engine with the heater on full and top up as necessary until no more air comes out of the bleed valve. Do up the bleed valve, replace the rad cap and take for a short test drive to check all is good.

Yea, easy peasy. As with anything engine related. Be methodical, clean and overly anal and you can't go wrong. Make sure the new thermostat is good quality. In various cars of various origin over the years; I've found that cheap thermo's cause all sorts of hassle. Make sure gasket surfaces are very clean and fresh and you'll never worry about it again.

when bleeding raise the front of the car as it helps the bubbles travel up to the bleedvalve
