Well adjust them then! There's no excuse for any rattles from an E30.
My (nearly) 300,000 mile touring had no rattles or squeaks and doors, tailgate, etc., all opened and closed just like they did when the car left the factory.
Not quite as good now, since playing Porsche snooker!

Way, way out!! That sort of mileage is considered 'nicely run in' on a BMW!
Only thing I would expect to find out of spec. on the engine at that sort of mileage is slight wear on the exhaust valve guides.
Expect it to still be pulling strong at twice that mileage!
All assumes, decent servicing of course.

ah ha.... that explains why my 88000 km 320 is so slow!!! i cant wait for it to get run in and relase all the M20B20 power!!!
