if the professional opinion is that you have whiplash then you are fully entitled to claim. thats what insurance is for. good on the self righteous honest folk that wouldnt claim for fear of puting up everyone elses premiums

Thing is, both Bob and Jon are in their 20's, not 40's. Both live in an area where unless you're married and thus have two incomes, it's virtually impossible to get on the property ladder. I lived at home until I was 24 or so, had flash cars etc. Nothing wrong with that. I bought my first house at 29, a terraced shithole repo for £12'500 cash. I sold it 2 years ago for £68k and put another few grand into a better one.

Sadly you cannot buy houses like this anymore, more's the pity.

Better to be poor and happy than loaded and sad? Yeah, righto. I don't think anyone here is loaded as such - by loaded I mean a £750'000 house (paid for) and millions in the bank. I've been in the position - when I bought said house with every bean I had - of having no money. And I mean none, scraping coppers together to buy bread. I borrowed £500 from the bank to pay for gas, water and electricity. Luckily a decent pay cheque arrived after 6 weeks!

Life is about choices - whether you make the right ones or not is down to how bright you are. It's easy to spunk loads of money on cars and end up with sod all and then wonder why you've f****d up. Turning your car habit into a self financing hobby where you actually come out in front with a few quid extra is a rare trait it seems. I personally have made a small profit on every car I've owned in the last 10 years - all except an 840Ci but that was something I wanted badly and was prepared to take a hit. I could afford to do so.

But for Bob to buy an M3 at an early age is fine by me. House prices aren't going anywhere for a year or two, maybe the opposite. Why shouldn't he both do that and live with his folks at his age FFS? :?:

If you ever met Bob, you'd all know he's the last bloke on earth to ram his M3 down your throat and big himself up. Have you ever read a post to the contrary?

Yep page 3 of this thread

(Quote BobS) 'I have an agreed value on my M3 and the 318is will be the same as it wont be a £600 motor thats been picked up off some ghetto homie who's thrashed hell out of it.
Lets be brutally honest as much as I like the 318is they are ALL ghastly over-priced, it's a torque-less wonder

What do you drive may I ask? a 316i lux with more rust issues that the titanic?

and if I were to spend 2100 on an e30 I'd build one. oh I am that way I know it wont go wrong and will be a bloody solid car with lots of nice bits on it' (unquote BobS)

If it wasn't inteneded in a 'I'm considerably richer than yew' manner or pompous and arrogant then it certainly reads that way :?
