the mods have been watching this for a while.

must say E30_BOI you aint exactly "making friends and influencing people" starting threads like this.

The fact that you retort with childish insults and ill thought out responses merely indicates that you are incapable of rational debate.

The issue you have raised is an interesting point, and if dealt with properly could yeild some useful insight into the reasonng behind people's car choices.

Unfortunately, you have been about as hospitable as Jade Goody

at the end of the day people arent going to sell a car that they have completly rebulid and thrown money/time at to the point it is alwost new again for peanuts. for a good tech 2 sport for example they are worth 5k or so if they are totally rebulit because if you buy one for 2-3k it will prob need rebuliding over the next few years anyway as otherwise it will start to rust out. e30 M3's yeah overpriced imho but 5-6k for a rebulit sport with nice leather/aircon etc is worth it

who cares that its not the last word in performance or refinement, i dont like it because it's a bmw, i like it because its an e30 m3.
Although not an E30, it's the same reasons I paid over £5k for a S1 Rs Turbo. I paid that much because I wanted a good one, I've always liked them and had spent ages looking for one. Yes it's extremely antiquated, it spends the majority of it's time self-distructing, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I pick my 325i Tourer up this weekend, it's not the Sport that I wanted but in my eyes it's a very good compromise for another car I've always admired. If things I had planned for my personal life were different then I'd guarantee that once I'd sold my S1, I would have used all that money and probably more buying the E30 Sport of my dreams. :D

If I wanted a new car, I'd go and buy one, simple. But I don't want to, like the majority of people on here E30's are old school cool and the feeling you get when driving it can't be matched by any modern equivilent.

Apologies for waffling, but I'm in agreement that I don't get what point the OP is trying to make. :?

These are the cars I loved as a kid and always wanted one. Now I have the chance there was no way that I was not going to have one. Of course newer BMW's or any new car is probably going to be more reliable but where is the fun in that. My 318is is my pride and joy and its nice when people stop to have a look because they remember the car from way back when. If I have a problem with my car, I usually find answers for it on this Forum. Why someone would come on here to 'disrespect' both the E30 and the members of this forum is beyond me. There is a great community spirit on this site and I have always got answers to the problems I have encountered.

If this idiot does purchase an E30 he is going to miss out on some good support, and a chance to get parts etc all because he feels the need to wind people up.

Interesting argument.
Why spend £5mill on a 250 GTO when you could get a faster, more reliable, newer 599 for £180k.
Also if you know where to look E30s are peanuts, there are loads out there driven by pensioners who've had them from new that have no idea they have a (not particularly fanatical) following.

The way i look at it is my car does everything i need it to, plus i have the satisfaction that i have made it unique, i've not spent mega money on it over the 3 years i've owned it and if i was to sell it i would probably sell it for more that i bought it for!

I for one, and i'm sure the majority of us on here not only just love the E30 but also many other cars of a similar age and style! The argument you make could so easily be made against and Ford, VW, Renault, Peugoet, any classic yank tank or anyother car older than 15-20 years

Technicaly newer cars are better and more reliable, but my car brings me soo much more fun than any equivilant modern car could plus i very much doubt i would get some random person complimet my car in the petrol station if i was in a run of the mill E36/E36!! :soap:

Just seems a little overinflated, where theres no apparent market although at least 500+ E30's on autotrader / pistonheads. Didn't realise that 1000 or so people wanted these cars. Nah the thing that bugs me is that people call these cars mint sometimes when their not. Also for the genuine mint ones they cost silly money IMHO. Anyway, anyone found one for me yet?

I've just trawled all through this lot:

Get rid of him/her/it, send it back to a Saxo forum, back to school, Mummy or whatever.

Mods: keep the web space open for real E30 enthusiasts! We have made our choices, we drive our E30's as they are the best thing on the roads!!

Now, lock this thread up, get rid of BO with some really strong ANTI-PERSPIRANT, and let's move on!

You kind of answered your own question. You like E30's and want to buy one but didnt realise that other people also like them. If no one wanted them then people could not sell them and the prices would drop. So by wanting an E30 your helping keep the price up, think about it.

Why do you want an E30? what draws you to the car?

My answer to the original post is............................

It's my f**king money I spend, and I will spend it how I like. People keep asking me "If you like BMWs so much, why don't you buy a better one?"

My reply to this is..........."When I find a better E30 I can afford, I will buy it."

I've just spent the best part of 20mins reading through this thread and tbh, E30 BO1 or whatever your f u c k i n name is it's a little late to be saying that you've found love for the e30 after starting this stupiness of a thread. You don't really have any love for the e30, so I seriously suggest you f u c k o f f like Dan said you pr1ck. People like you just mess with sh1t you don't know about and you obviously know fcuk all about E30's......I have a car for you along with my size 9 toe'tectors, that's ready to be planted up your jacksie...if your interested come see me :D

Interesting thread. I actually have another thread going in the Pub Talk section called E30 v E36 v E46. Being fortunate to own all 3 at the moment, i commented that the E36 looking at it purely from a comfort and performanc point is a much better car than the E30 and the E46 leaves them both for dead, yet i've spent enough on my E30 to buy a Ferrari. Why? Because my mate has a Ferrari and when we go out i get more looks than him cause everyone knows any one with cash can walk in a showroom and drive one out, but my car is unique. He also drives his car a few miles a week round the block cause his service is £5.5k. I cain my car all the time cause my service is £250. If his engine goes pop, he's in big doo, doo. If mine goes pop, i can buy one for £150. You getting my point? You can argue that everything in life is well over priced because it usually cost peanuts to build or make and we're charged top dollar for it and that includes things like houses.

I guess at the end of the day, you can buy what you want with your hard earned money, but there will always be people who will pay top dollar for an old car because it's not about comfort and modern day gadgets. It's about putting a smile on their faces and as long as there are people like that, cars like the E30 will always be in demand.
