The engine we have put on ebay hasnt been claimed at 280 bhp but with 250 bhp the 280 bhp is mistake.
However I will say that the manufacturers do state
Cam will give you 10 to 20 bhp
Port polished head will give you 15bhp
27 convertion will give you 190bhp
When you add the eta crank, eta conrods, 325i pistons and deck the block to meet the original 325i piston to block level you will find the engine will produce 198 bhp we had 200 in the past.
Six branch manifold to increase the flow manufacturers do insist on 20bhp boost using free flow exhaust arque the point with them with them

In the past when using a diesel crank remachined we got over 290 bhp

ditto this whole forum have forgotten this!
Controversial I know, but this forum is also largely blind to the existence of throttle bodies and engine management and is instead more concerned with just fitting BBTBs which don't stand a hope in hell of controlling a high specific output N/A engine, for the road anyway.

Hi, my name is Mike Hunt from Vortex Performance Racing.

I've got a D reg 320i.

Satin black cam cover 10 bhp
E30 Zone keyring 18 bhp
Ford CVH conrods so the pistons don't come to the tops of the bores thus creating the well know 'bullshit vortex' just before TDC.
Halfords glow in the dark plug leads.

She does 276 decibels at the rear wheels. Yeah.

Any doubts, ask to see Mike Hunt.

youve forgot to include the ebay resistor that gives you 25bhp and as i can see your a man that obviously knows his stuff i can tell you about the new electric turbo kit you can now buy that gives you another 40bhp thats not to be confused with all the other cheap immitations you often see on ebay, this one really works

I don't do them electric turbos. I just hooked up a fat pipe from the heater motor and 'blew' it from there. F*ck me it's one wickedly fast motor.

Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?

FAO Mike Hunt.

Thats a very interesting post, I've been looking at ways of getting more power out of my 320i monster ever since a 1.1 saxo schooled me off the lights.

Regards,

Isaac Hunt

He obviously believes in his product.

Unfortunately it seems that nobody shares his view.

I too had that trouble with my 320i, only I was getting blitzed by 998 Metros. I believe emptying the ashtrays and only running with 3 gallons of fuel improves the power to weight ratio.
