Will a 60/60 drop make it seem like I've just driven out of the local council estate?

dave, looks OK to me. Probably as it's not quite a 60mm drop (or so it seems).

As Morat says, when the wheel is tucked right up into the arch that's when it looks ghetto IMO :(

SCOTTCLIOBILLABONG cheers for the tip. I was steering away from them as they're suspiciously cheap as I said, so I'm gonna pick up a set of Spax ones tomorrow. Car should be dropped by this time next week winkeye

When people drop cars why do they drop the back so the rears are hidden up to the wheel? Just seems to me that the front of that car looks perfect with the tire just clear of the arch, but the back looks wrong with the line of the tyre cutting the arch. I think the look of concentric circles at the front (arch, tyre, wheel) looks really good, but the arch shape at the back (arch, half a tyre, wheel) just looks ugly.

In my opinion of course ;)

Does anyone drop cars so the back wheels are just off the arches, like the fronts have to be?
mines lowered "60/40" and is not as low as others of the same drop?

You're learning - I'll make a Jedi of you yet.

Dave - bearing in mind you're on the worst wheels ever to grace an e30 your car looks very sweet. The bodywork looks superb. Just close your eyes and imagine it on a set of genuine Alpinas though...

I think he meant "dave" above with the J plate.

3 spokes are the best wheels ever to grace an E30. In black. On the back of the Gug.

Maybe they are aspiring for this

In my opinion you want the top of the tyre to be exactly level with the wheel arch for the perfect look, on both the front and the back, or as near to this is possible!

Another opinion.....
The lower it is the more it handles like a go kart. (no suspension travel)
Yeh, i know no sus travel means very hard ride and awful when playing cd's but surely if you can make your car handle like a go kart, thats not a bad thing is it???? winkeye

Yes because the suspension will not be able to handle our bumpy roads and have a detrimental effect on handling. There is a happy medium.

Perfect...

Oh and guys I know the effects of lowering a car

I was just asking about the image it sends out if your car's very low.

I'm sold on 55/35 now anyway - should tighten up the handling and also perhaps shift a little bit of weight towards the front as the car understeers like a mofo at the moment 8O

Says the man who is 18 and still thinks eyebrows look good!

Kos....Spax. Selection for the 1.8 cab is pretty limited really, but from what I've heard Spax springs aren't too bad.

Well just got mine lowered 60/40. Front looks great but the back still seems a little high but it might settle a bit.

It doesnt look chav, I thinks its because it not on huge rims. Its still running the 15" BBS's which will be replaced with 15" Hartge's.

Does feel a little wierd as I used to step into my car and I now step down and into it. When I open the garage door its funny to see the bonnet almost at knee hight (well that how it seems)
