Well if you ask the seller about the history of the car he doesn't really give a good bit of detail. He told me it was mainly BMW serviced - which is obviously not true. He had it up at £25k initially. What an absolute joker. It is an older car but 19 keepers - that is a lot by any standards! The highest I had was 12 prev on a sport I owned a few years ago.Gert_8 wrote:You mean it does not have full DEALER service history. There is a difference, and the statement that it has full service history may well be true.
I'm guessing many owners opt out of the dealer services as a car gets older. Cabbies generally tend to have a high turnover of owners, which could explain the sparse number of dealer stamps?
I wouldn't buy this for many other reasons, not just the service history part.

I was only trying to explain the claim a car has full service history.
To many a full service history = Dealer only, and with others it means initially through the dealer, but as the car gets older it's serviced through an independent garage (but the book has a series of stamps).
To some, it even means serviceing it themselves, at home...supported with purchase receipts for parts etc.
However, I suspect the seller is being economical with the truth and the 19 previous owners probably have not looked after it as well as they should have...

The car and the seller is an absolute joke.
All
Just to confirm I have checked with BMW Main dealer and this car is a genuine Motorsport Edition with an email print off from the technician to prove this. Some say you can say what ever you link on the log book, but the BMW system does not lie. It was possibly ordered with black leather from factory as some may not like the bubble, I don't and prefer black leather. I do not know about it not having a leather stitched console though as i have not seen the car yet. It does also say in his description that the car was converted from auto to manual, but no paperwork. The full service history part I'm not sure about, although it does have part history, and it being an old car is expected to a certain extent. I have spoken with his bloke a few times and he does seem genuine and confirms that he has only had the car around 5 months. I will go and inspect this car in person as i do need to get this out of my system and see if for myself. I do appropriate what everyone has said and thanks to you all as we are all here to help each other out.
I did ask the question about the condition of the car on this forum but nothing has come back as i like to buy on condition. its the number of owners that many are put off including me, however, its an old car and has exchanged hands a lot. I'm not defending the owning or the car in anyway, however, I doo feel that some may have jumped on the band wagon on this post. without seeing the suspension, how can we just assume it on spring drop, may have decent coil overs, or set up? or you are speaking from experience? I'm a car enthusiast and do appreciate a classic car, owning a 3 Door sierra cosworth, Sapphire Cossie, E46 M3 Manual, 535 D Sport. This car is not up for 10k, its a 6k car so not mega money either. I have asked the owner why on other sites its up for 13k, he has claimed that this was an error and is in the process of changing it,
I hope the owner can respond on this forum to clear things up.
Regards
