As much as I like the M52 I think its just too modern for this car really, same as the M42 idea others have suggested.
Keep it retro,M20 with some nice subtle mods ie decent rack/suspension/brakes etc and it will be a belter!

That looks really nice in those pics!
I'm edging more to agree with eko now about going M20 instead of M52, but then I'm biased as that exactly what I've done with my Polaris 316 Chromie.

That looks fresh! Have still got the M10 donk in it still running? Would be interested in hearing it before you do the conversion, nice to have a spare for the E21, better head on these too I believe.

Get fuse #19 (mirrors) changed for a 7.5A one, before it all goes up in smoke!Ianb wrote:
There's a coloured diagram of the fuses in the wiki, that you should compare with what you actually have.

The engine's still in it, only problem is it's up against the garage wall at the moment because I'm working on a two door Subaru Impreza. That should be gone next week so if you fancy a trip to Sidcup one evening let me know mate.

Holy hawkeyes Brian
I like that colour - it looks great and with some careful detailing I'm sure you could go for the full paedo wet look reflection shots and get some great results.

Blimey, Thanks Brian. I will sort it out when life gives me a chance, I would never have thought to check that! . So far I've sourced an M42 complete with loom, rad etc and beige check IS seats ( stuck with beige as the carpets & panels are absolutely immaculate ), lsd, tech 1 370 wheel, pedal box, tank & pump but owing to my own stupidity I seem to be doing friends favours that require use of half the garage so I've not touched this since cleaning it up. Next thing will be to try and sell the 316 and box ( hey, i can dream ..) while it can still be seen running then the big strip begins. I must admit i'm dying to get started but in the meantime the old 30's wrapped up in the dry and anyone who comes in the garage is told " One scratch or ding on that and you will be horribly killed " One question you may know the answer to is the diff I've sourced is 3.65 and I'm going to be running the M42 so do you have any idea what gearbox would be best 318, 318is e30 or 318is e36? My guess would be the E36?Brianmoooore wrote:Get fuse #19 (mirrors) changed for a 7.5A one, before it all goes up in smoke!Ianb wrote:
