I still think it look poo when they are that low.
Don't get me wrong on the facelift I have it's 60/40 and looks spot on.
The chromie is 35 and drives much much nicer and handles better.

And you're telling me that despite owning a Porsche you can't read! HR Race springs from the states. N Carolina to be precise. I also have no spring pads on the front and it's stil a good inch too high for my liking. Show me somewhere where I can get the same poundage springs which drop the car that extra inch and I'll buy themBob_S wrote:
So you're telling me that you own an M3 yet can't afford a set of springs?
Now I realise you are also a Tester. But I quoted directly from the book there. So if you fail it for that. You are in the wrong. Saying that a colleague of mine wanted to fail a car for its residents parking sticker being in a stupid place. But again, according to the wording. You can't. As you know the onus is on dangerous/excessive. When in normal use being the key phrase. My springs don't locate at the top when the suspension is unloaded and thats Bilsteins . Again if anyone can recommend a shorter stroke stut insert i'll go with that.bss325i wrote:When you jack the car up during an MOT, if the spring is loose or has been vissibly cut/fractured its a fail.

Reasons for rejection.
1. A coil spring a. incomplete, cracked or fractured
If i see its been cut then its gonna fail.
As a tester you will know half of it is down to the descretion of the tester.

ah, but it also states in the manual that a shortened or cut spring is not a reason for rejection in itself.bss325i wrote:From the manual,Rich_W wrote:Now I realise you are also a Tester. I cut my springs on the E28 and they were fine, half or less than half the original length. Everything is seated properly. Personally I lock wire my springs in to stop dislocation, over cable tieing. Then again this car isn't designed to handle, though it actually handled very well if not slightly jumpy on uneven roads. It's an auto that I only payed £50 for and I wanted the car on the floor for no cost, and thats what I got! That said for E30s though I would never cut pig tails since the spring would never seat right.
