well im just not mega minted at the moment, only just bought the car, insured it, and spent a bit already on it on a few bits, and also lots of £10s and £20s here n there for bits n bobs n cleaning products n all sorts, its all added up, plus been enjoying driving it a fair bit so ££ on fuel
and it was 2 worn p6000s on the front that needed replacing pronto, so just wanted a quick half decent but not too pricey soloution, so went with the falkens, gotta be better than the tyres theyve just replaced for sure and made things safer !
il see how the falkens fair over the next cple of weeks, then either get 2 more, or just save the cash and wait till spring time, and get a complete new set of something for the summer !

,forgive me if im wrong...but could that just seem like that because in the wet...the rear wheels would seem like that anyway ? as they have the power ?monkey wrote:i have toyo t1r's on the front of my e30 and falken 912's on the back . i think they are both good tyres for the money but the toyos are better in the wet .
ie have you tried them the other way round in the wet ?

For my 525 toyos cost more than the Dunlops!Jon_Bmw wrote: I am currently enjoying Dunlop SP maxx's on the 540i and they seem a good choice. Ok, on the rear they will last about a year(going on reciepts of Maxx tyres) but you get a good level of grip. What is more important, paying out £100-150 a year or paying out 70-100 quid a year for some shite that you may end up backwards in a ditch?
no but i have tried toyos all roundpolsta wrote:,forgive me if im wrong...but could that just seem like that because in the wet...the rear wheels would seem like that anyway ? as they have the power ?monkey wrote:i have toyo t1r's on the front of my e30 and falken 912's on the back . i think they are both good tyres for the money but the toyos are better in the wet .

Its a 318iS... as long as there is reasonably good tyres all round and not shite like nankangs, linglongs, sonars, stunners or any of that other shit that even sound poor by the name of the brand you'll be fine.
You'll only need to step up a grade in tyre to some of the premium tyres mentioned when you start modding the cars suspension alittle or increase the power by a good margin so that your tyres are the weakest link again.

Buy them from blackcircles.com or demontweeks.co.uk. Blackcircles will even give you somewhere to get them fitted for the price.polsta wrote:ive just had a ring round of every local place, and none have toyos and quote me £70-£80 each, i can get 2 falken 912s fitted this arvo for £128 , have a feeling i could blag 120 cash
its either that or order the toys from ctyres.co.uk
,or a place has got kumho ku31 , he reckons are better than the falkens, but he wud say that anyway, what are they like ?

Sorry going against the grain I do not like the over rated Toyos , Goodyear Hydra is much better all round everyday road tyre and at £35 a corner fitted wet/all season performance is unbeatable even when worn down to the wear indicators it works better in the wet than most others dry
Vredestein Sportrac 3 very good tyre much better than Toyos and last twice as long. Kumho Ecsta KU31 not bad niether is Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 but i think are unsuitable for E30 they need weight and downforce to get best out of them.
I find smaller local tyre shops (not those big retail chains) often beat camskills and other online places when buying 4 tyres fitted so ring around dont assume the nets the best.

Tyre fitter here. I fit toyos on my car and I get mine at cost. Well free actual our work vans run 205/50x15 tr1s.
At mid range money NOTHING comes close certainly not kumhos!
The only down side to toyos is they don't do massive miles, cos they are soft and grippy.
Fit toyos or wish you did for the ne t 15k ish
