Pete believes his to be a 284/272 Dbilas cam. However we bought from the same bloke, looking at the guy's auctions right now says 282/272 for the M20, and 284/272 for a Schrick M20. But hey, if Pete says he has a Schrick 284 then he must have.

Apologies for any confusion caused, but my cam is the Dbilas 282Ԛ°/272Ԛ° for the M20 engine. No idea where i got the 284 from.

I'm going to get those pics sort out now.

Is he still going to mail the graphs to you Pete?

The jump in power/torque when the VTEC cuts in is quite amusing.

I hope so. I wrote to him yesterday as follows:

Hi Charlie,

Just wanted to extend my thanks in writing to you and your colleague for hosting our rolling road day yesterday. I think I can speak on behalf of all those who attended in remarking that we really enjoyed the event and were impressed both by your facility and the expertise and advice you had to offer. All the results have already been posted up on our forum, which has started the usual round of interesting debates and comments.

As discussed, if you can get me all the graphs electronically, I'll compile these along with the details of the cars tested and the photos taken on the day, along with a few words about the day to send to Performance BMW magazine in the hope they'll do an article for us.

Regards

Peter

Haven't heard back from him yet, but he did say it would take a few days as he has to transfer them all to floppies to move them to his home PC before he can email them. Once i have them, i'll email them out to everyone.

Final note on the potential Performance BMW Magazine article:
Can everyone who put their car on the rollers please provide me with a quote or two on the day's events. This could be your views on your car's performance, on the day itself, what you thought about Surrey Rolling Road, on how wonderful the zone is etc. Just need to collate some interesting stuff to add to the photos, graphs etc.

Thanks.

Adam's car in its current state made 203bhp (or there abouts) on Bexleys rollers.

Therefore Bexleys rollers actually read slightly lower.

So Simon13's car would probably make around 150 bhp on the Bexley rollers!!.....

ive had the pleasure of being in 2 stock c2s and i have to say Jims car is faster
Yet again Karan fails to remember that Jim's car had a 4.10 diff in it when he was a passenger and C2's come with a 3.64 diff. Of course the C2's are going to be slower!

There's hardly any different in the spec of a C2 engine vs the custom built ones other than the steel crank.

My C2 hit 200 bhp and 200 lb.ft with its 268 cam.

201bhp but this was with 4bar fuel pressure. My car was chronically overfuelling after the remap, it stunk and subsequent tests on a SUN gas analyser revealed that the emissions were far beyond acceptable MOT levels so I had to reduce the fuel pressure to 3.5bar and the car feels like it's performing better. I've alsu built a heat shield around the cone filter since Bexleys rolling road session.

3bhp difference between rollers is nothing. It's barely even measuable because the difference could have been affected by temperature or anything.

3bhp on the road would make no difference in a head to head race of cars with 3 bhp between them.

Dave, if you're gonna turn the Vtec beast into a strip slaag then consider building yourself a wheelie bar that is in constant contact with the ground. I've seen them doing it in the states on Civics that are running in the 9's. Just helps the inherant problem of getting a FWD car off the line with the effect of weight transfer and no grip

Make sure you take this up with Bexleys.

Basically the rollers are about the same then.

This is pretty much true!

I don't know about 40+ bhp, but probably 20+bhp. Relatively normal cars can keep up with faster ones if really caned!
:teehee: Thats true, the Tourer slag pulls away from the Puma but only slowly
What are you going on about 'slowly' I was shifting up at 5.5k.
