I think you'll find that the baby M3 tag is something the press, forums and general BMW enthusiasts circles have applied to the iS - not actual iS owners on the ground so you're very wrong.

I could care less about flattering nicknames and rowing with prehistoric 6-Cylinder owners.

I'll settle for an engine designed with this centuries tech and some nice trick bits.

Throw in a smidge of exclusivity - not much - just enough to separate us out form the sea of common muck that is your 325i owner.

Now, where's that M badge...

Urm, on a 325i Sport?

I though you were! :chuckle:

Never quite got where this came from? I always considered the 320iS as the Baby M3, considering it has an S14 engine...

lol, galvanisers... :D

I'm always up for the battle - but don't mistake that for actually giving a damn.

No point comparing M42/M20 to S14 either.

No M badge on a 325i Sport by the way - it's a premium saloon with a questionable bodykit and sports seats/dampers. Nothing more - if iS owners bleat on about how awesome M42's are then apply the same logic to Sport owners - what do they have - a supercar no less!

I think it is quite an endearing trait tbh.. That'll be why iS owners so often bleat on about M3 handling blah blah blah..

This centuries tech? Where? 4v/Cyl? Erm.. Hate to break this to you, but that is about 40yrs old now.. Trick bits? Do elaborate.. :? Hell even my lump is now out of date

Hahahahahahahahaha! Ooookay 8O

Wow.. You really are an iS wierdo aren't you, making it out to be anything more than a run out test bed for the e36 engine that it actually was :)

can't believe the is vs 325 argument is still going! No-one feel its gone a little off topic?

Can't they just both be quality cars?

And they are both slow. Now.

horses for courses, they're both good e30's just better in different areas

325 is a sledgehammer, whilst an iS is a precision instrument but as far as the iS vs 325i saga?

It's all duplex vernier, sodium cooled valve & forged crank envy winkeye

316 was able to stay on it's bumper from around 30-80mph
Its only when the 318is finished wheel spinning and finally gripped at 80MPH that it started pulling away!

One way of looking at it I guess lol.

Why so much hatred towards to 325i? Or are you just simply trying to cause an argument for arguments sake?

Just taking the mick. I do have an iS but the last reason I love it is the engine/speed.

I have bikes for that kind of shallow nonsense.

The only time i run a filter is during the summer months when theres no moisture in the air. But then again i only do about 2000 miles a year.
