My mates got 325i sport (abit like the red one for sale on here for 8k, but better),25k miles from new, looks right, drives right, im sure you would really really like it, if you saw it.... its got no old mots to verify the mileage, no paperwork, no receipts, no nothing, just a log book,he's done all the servicing for the last 15 years himself on his drive alas no paperwork, he wants 9k for it... Would you pay him the asking price?

But seriously trouble is, if you had the reddies, sounds like you probably would, might even give him a grand on top, (visions of lotto lout Micky Carrol coming to mind now!)

lets get one thing clear there isn't a 3-4k mark up on the price. Yes the car changed hands not long ago but there is a genuine reason for the sale, and it wasn't bought for £50 last time either

No malace from the car or seller

I certainly wasnt knocking the car or the vendor! I just think that with it being the middle of winter,at Christmas and during the start of a possible recession it is a high price to pay for any E30!!.....but after saying that...I did buy my cab during Christmas week 5 years ago

I think you'll find it is a case of not needing to sell, so he doesn't have a problem holding on to it for when someone comes up with the readies to match its true worth

True, you may not have been getting defensive, but you took what I said & made it into something else altogether when you implied that I may have a problem with someone making money on a car, which is not what i said or implied, I just would have liked to have known what the sudden increase in value was down too & speculated as such...

My initial post was/is what it is, it had enough direction in it to not make anyone think I got a problem with somone making money on a car..

I love abit of enterprise!

PS: I dont have the vision to make 3 bags on a decent E30 after all costs & I'll gladly hold my hands up to it. If you do & if its that easy, maybe you should be making a career out of it. :)

Iv read through this whole post again & cannot see anyone knocking the car, or the owner (who im sure is a good chap), & besides rodderz questioning the price, which was done in a polite manner, so am finding the whole 'The owners best friend Act' being employed by some as baffling, if not a little touching also.

Worth every penny, I bought my C2 2.7 convertible for £12,500 few years ago, and never thought twice.

Alright if you think I payed to much I don't give a damn, thse cars are to be appreciated, and if you can't afford to buy one then don't criticse other people who being real enthusiasts don't care how much money it takes to get a real rare beast.

All this car needs to finich it off is the badges, and full Alpina stripes.

But sadly I dont and I won't sell the C2 2.7 to get the cash either.

I can vouch for this car as I have seen it in the flesh it is absolutely awesome and factory fresh.

I do hope it goes to a loving caring home as old_skool put a lot of effort into this car.

I'd buy an alpina if i had the cash. Would pay whatever money its worth. Only avoiding it if rust is an issue. Engine interior nick anything, wouldn't care. Same with a schnitzer or hartge. Cars to be admired and need passionate owners.

But i wouldn't buy one now, even i could afford it... as i dont have a garage to keep it in and living right by the beach and having to park in a public car park on the coastline... wouldn't let an alpina sit there either. For safety reasons and for the fact it would be open to all the weather can throw at it :(

Really want a tuner company E30 tho. Spend anything i could to make it as clean and original as possible and take it out on special occassions only :D Its what those cars are for IMO. An M3 (or sport) IMO is still to be looked after but you can play a bit more with them i'd say!

Doesn't matter what someone pays for a car. That figure was the required amount for it to change owners.

Now, to take that car off Damo's hands, the figure to do it is different. The only time a contract of sale will take place is when seller and prospective owner agree and transact the deal.

Really doesn't matter what any armchair analysts reckon. The seller doesn't have to justify anything to anyone. This is the price he wants.

A cracking car and good luck with the sale.
