thats very handy.
i say dont mess about just get it fixed at a decent place like you plan and get barry to pay for what you can. i guess he wont be rich so asking for a grand off him will never happen.
i cant see pics at work so i cant comment but good luck fella.

I would just make sure you get the dollars out of him before the actual work starts on the car otherwise there is a risk the repairs will be done and suddenly all the excuses will surface and at the end of the day the arrangement for the repairs is between you and the bodyshop, who won't be interested in sob stories about him paying a percentage. Sorry, probably stating the obvious.
Do you have the registration of the car involved? It seems to me(although i've only skimmed through the thread) that he may not have insurance.

sounds to me like he has something to hide . do you have independant witnesses to back you up should he decide to claim it was nothing to do with him when you try to get the cash from him?
Unfortunatly not but it's his word against mine, he isn't a complete arse mind. I think he will play fair. I'm speaking to him tonight to see what I can get out of him. Wish me luck.

Good luck mate.
I don't know that he isn't insured. I'll have to find out tonight as that might be the route to take if he isn't willing to give me the amount I want for the damage he has caused.
On a slightly off topic note: My car has decided it wants to run very lumpy now.. When you accelerate it keeps dropping revs and jolting the car about. I think this car hates me.

He may have rich parents that are willing to pay the dolla to get him out of trouble?fuzzy wrote:he definately isnt insured then. how likely is it that this lad has £1000+ available to him to hand to you?Ian_M wrote:Barry has agreed to pay for my work to be done

£700 and he wants 4 weeks to get it which is handy 'cos then Zimmer can drop the part off to me which he kindly offered to do.
He lives next to my mums partner and has done for a long time apparently so I'm quite confident he will cough up the cash.

For everyone saying he isn't insured,is not possible he doesn't want his already sky high insurance to go up due to a claim,it's probably in his interest to do it this way.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...

i wouldnt expect someone to fork out the best part of a grand over 4 weeks just to keep his premium down but you never know. you will have his registration number ian so do a check on that insurance database site that was posted up in a thread recently.Jesus325iTouring wrote:For everyone saying he isn't insured,is not possible he doesn't want his already sky high insurance to go up due to a claim,it's probably in his interest to do it this way.
