Front Fog Lights. "WHAT'S THE BIG PROBLEM ???"

this is a bit OT but similar to what Iain said above there seems to be a craze amongst learner motorbikers round here to remove their rear light bulb but leave the brake light working somehow. seen this several times now. very strange

Why would they do that???? Random!

christ knows but ive seen it. surely the easiest way to get pulled by the cops or launched into orbit by a high speed shunt.

how can they be illegal when some manufactures set them to come on as soon as the side lights are on???

ford give an option for it, either fog lights or what they call spot lights which come on with the side lights or atleast they used to

i cant be 100% sure, but doesnt the new mini have lights in the bumper that are always on if other lights are. they are small and not particularly dazzling. but look alot like someone with fogs on.

my problem is in the rain they reflect up off the road and you get glare off them

Yes they do, Driving lights, but low intensity light only.

my capri had a set of 150 watt cibie rally driving lights mounted on the front bumper and they were awesome on country lanes at night but they came on with the full beam so i never used them too blind people and "think i looked cool" they were driving lights and used to exactly that. the only time they got used in anger was if i saw a chav box saxo coming the other way side lights and fogs on that were bright enough too cause me to be blinded....

I couldn't careless either way about fog/driving lights being on,doesn't bother me and I don't recall being blinded by them.

What I DO care about is maladjusted headlights, those cars with sort of blue coloured headlights,and just about all new car head lights.
All of the above are pain in the arse,or rather my head.
I'm sick of being blinded by these unnecessarily bright headlights.

And worse still is the tw ats who have to have full beam on at EVERY nano second of oppurtunity even when quite clearly other cars are coming around bends.

What I can't understand is that cars with Xenon lights all have height sensors on both front and rear axles, but as the headlights are ahead of both, the effect of the sensors is re-active, the headlights go up and down as the sensor on the rear axle is activated, but by then the front of the car is stable. Hence the xenon equiped cars shining like a laser beam into the back of your skull!
