I don't think there has ever been a Dips creation in TBMW. No bad taste E36's either.
The chavvy stuff has it's place and it's PBMW which although not my taste obviously has a ready market. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple. winkeye

no not yet :D ,maybe soon ,not many of my car stay normal andy.
had 2 in tbmw kos car and the m3 before i got it but none were mine doesnt really count, still have the v12,3 dr touring or choices of the e21 or 2002 turbo :D

I only buy PBMW. Yes i agree some of the cars are not the best, but then again you need to remember that the BMW scene in the UK is tiny so it's not easy to churn out top quality cars every month. Funy cause i see cars featured in there now that wouldnt even have made it to the readers section a couple of years ago. It just shows you how naff the whole scene is at the moment. As for the other 3 BM mags, not my taste and i've never bought a copy and i cant see that changing in the near future either. I can understand why people buy them in terms of their technical help you get with the contents, but as far as nice cars goes, it just doesnt float my boat!!!

all 3 bmw mags have all got something different to offer, but BMW and total overlap a bit, and total to performance BMW over lap at times

as a few have said, these is not a lot going on in the bmw world in terms of modded cars, so some times scrap hits the pages , and i like many others have a moan about it.
but its up to you guys to build a car worthy of a feature, i've ahd my say on this befor on what makes a feature car.
look a PVW , some of the cars have had £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£ spent on them to create the best, no half arsed "i'm to tight to do it right" cars and its not only styling and looks, they do some mental engine swops these days
have a look at performance ford, £Â£Ã‚£ spent to get that extra few BHP. and the fabrication in some of the cars and bespoke chassis developments is amazing
nothing in the BMW mags built in this country had made me stop and say wow for a long time. a lot have had some nice touches but not a lot is ground breaking and innovative.

i read performance VW and occasionaly pick other like evo, auto sport and P ford. they all have a lot to offer but you do get board after seeing similar cars over the course of a few months but usualy there is something which makes me sit up and think

as for dips creation in TBMW, the previous editior wanted to do a feature on the 2 tone touring when he saw it at gaydon :D

not always, we all know how much money the banks and credit card companies make so 9/10 times the just write it off.

you have to admire these people who do what they want to thier cars, what i'm doing to the M3 is a once in a life time build, i dont ever think i'll do it again :D

I also used to buy all 4 ford mags as far back as 95 but stopped when i drifted away (excuse the pun) to bmw's. With them fast ford used to be the better one but it went a bit chaved and performace ford got much better and became the more technical one with a focus on performance so it deserved the title which is ironic because pford and pbmw are published (along with bmwcar and others) by the same people.

Each to their own but I'd rather spend 10K on bricks and mortar and a decent holiday. 10K on ICE and wheels is the equivalent of setting fire to it.

why ? they build cars to enjoy them, like you'd spend it on a holiday to enjoy that. you'll enjoy your holday for a week or 2, they'll enjoy their car for longer

£10,000 on brick and mortar ........ well thats as far as it will go on a property, wont buy you much.

well as you said each to their own.

i just wanted to say that i am the ad manager for PBMW, and have looked at all the tread posted on here!
All i wanted to say is that there are Three magazines in the market and not everyone of these is going to be to everyones taste, but what i can't understand is why people have to slag off ones they don't like, why can't you just appreciate the hard work put in by people!!
I would like to say to Darkchild, that it is a bit off saying you wouldn't even wipe your arse on it, that seems a bit personnal to me, have you ever tried to write a magazine with a very contraversal scene, some people just haven't got a clue!!
At the end of the day buy the magazine you like, but if someone like the person who started the thread just wanted some advise on what is out there then why can't you just state the facts???
If you like Total then stick with it, the same with the people that only read BMW car!!
Enjoy!! the magazine YOU LIKE!!!!

If you're that concerned with an opionion of one forum member and you take everything you read on Internet this seriously, a few simple steps should go a long way towards making readers like him happy:

1. Get rid of all the pictures, they make the paper unnecessarily smooth, so it glides over fecal matter instead of absorbing it.

2. Choose softer paper, yours crumples with very hard edges.

3. Consider changing the format of the magazine to a roll instead of bound book, it's proven to be more popular for application

4. Finally - get the price down, it's very expensive for a toilet roll....

Alternatively - decrease coffee consumption, look at the watch and realize it's almost time to go home and no matter how hard you try you're never going to please everyone.

and i know people who haved spent twice as much and close to 3 times that figure on an e30.

i know people who've spent 30 grand modding an e46m3

the reason we chose to it is beacuse....

1- we want to
2- we can

opinions on magazines and car vary from person to person, not everyone will be happy with particular magazine. i read all 3 bmw mags and a selection of others which are not marque specific, all have different things to offer. we all have our opinions on them, but to make the comment that its not worth wiping your arse on is a bit dumb, you telling me not one car or particular issue over the years and cars features has intrested you ? god there have been cars in that mag that dont do it for me, but hey with such a wide audience not everyone will be happy with every issue.

i recon the few people who slate performance bmw are the ones who aspire to have their car featured in the mag but in reality cant cut it and have no idea what i takes to have a feature worth car.

i've had many cars over the years, 2 have been featured by mags and i've worked on and helped out with mates cars that have been featured, it takes a lot of hard work to build a complete car. and i hope that the current one i'm building makes it in to one of them . :D

with the bmw scene being dominated by e36/e46 and not much happening with e30's its up to YOU guys to provide the magazine with something original, different to get in it to satisfy youselves . i still see the same cars at the shows and the same look, alpina replicas and tech 2 kits but recently the scene's been movine to the OEM plus look, BBS's/alpina/hartge rims with minimal styling and few cars i saw at the pod have got the potential to get in the mag, these had good clean engine swops/conversions and their owners know they need a few more things to give it that edge and get it a feature.

so basicly its either build a car or put up and shut up bitches !

i personally prefer the PBMW and PFORD mags because they offer a wider choice from standard/restored to extremely modified rather than the snooty mags that tend to feature the standard cars.
the mags dont build the cars, they can only work with what they are given.so get building if you are not happy with what the scene has to offer.
same with all the bullsh1t figures that are printed. the reporter and photographers will know when the owners are talking sh1t but will print what the owners are claiming as they are only the messengers.
