wow, winner for the oldest thread to be bumped up.
last post april 30 2005
Wow what a thread revival....
@daniele, check This thread it has all you need to know including the template, it was originally designed around a Hella light and requires a bit of tweaking to work on bosch lights. I used the template with great success
Good luck

if you buy the German ones can you just readjust them to work in the uk or is there more to it than that?Simon wrote:Kedge, I bought them from e-bay Germany.
Mark, I will do a template for you, and I will get your addy to send it too.
Kev, I won't be making anymore, they take too long
i wouldn't want to blind everyone
On my post above is a link to a thread with the template on so you can make your own. If you were to buy the parts ready made you could most probably find them in this country now but it wouldn't matter where you got them from as they don't alter your light aimsnowmaan wrote:if you buy the German ones can you just readjust them to work in the uk or is there more to it than that?Simon wrote:Kedge, I bought them from e-bay Germany.

question was more can LHD e30 style twin lights be set up to be set up to work in the uk by adjusting or do they need a silly sticker like the standard type light units?
the reason i ask is the non smiley lights can be hard to find in the uk

They can be adjusted by screws in the back of the fitting iirc, loosen them and twist the lens to throw the light in the right direction.

Swapping the lighs from left to right isn't going to help
Swapping the lights from right to left won't help, the throw of the beam will be going the same direction
Adjust the lens, that'll sort it.

i wasn't sure if that would adjust them enough i was thinking you might have to pop then out and swap left for right and so on
think i will give this a go if i can find a set to butcher

Rav, anyone, any idea if the inner dimensions on the Hella Smileys are different from the Bosch Bullseyes. Reason i ask is i tinted the latter type, and when i tried to install the X- hairs
that Imy supplied, it was then impossibe to get the Lens on properly.
Ended up making my own from Stainless, but not overly happy with them.
Incidentally, i used a Black High Temp sealant , Loctite 5940, to reseal the lens.
