Good work Dameon!
Bit surprised when I heard Gatwick airport was fubar'd- was down there almost a week to the day ago.
I dont wish such situ's on anyone.
Lets hope it subsides soon.

Oh and you hero! If I saw a man in a skirt abandoned in a flood I would stop, point out he looked like a girl then drive on...

we also had a bad day yesterday, there was a small cloud in the sky at 7:30am, it made the local news and flood warnings were issued... but it was burnt away by the sun by 7:32am and all calm was restored....
cut a potatoe in half and rub it on your windscreed before you set off, you wont need the wipers

and my wipers packed up last week

That's really clever of you. I'm sure all the people who have lost their homes during the day and last night will find that most entertaining. EDIT: *I have removed the rest of my comments through better judgementmrLEE30 wrote:we also had a bad day yesterday, there was a small cloud in the sky at 7:30am, it made the local news and flood warnings were issued... but it was burnt away by the sun by 7:32am and all calm was restored....
*You can still have one of these though
Munky, the tractor is for mowing my lawn and intimidating men in kilts.

Is that something naughty you're cultivating in the front weights, Dameon?

I want a go in that tractor too, though I'm not wearing a skirt.
You sure you didnt think it was a lass in a skirt and only found out a bit later a-la trainspotting?
Seriously though, hats off to you mate (not that I'm wearing a hat) there should be more people willing to help out who've got tractors

not trying to be clever just trying to make light out of a bad situation, i dont believe my comments would have offended normal people, we have people die in the heat out here and i find it ironic that a country that spends most of its time in the rain should have such trouble during what is supposed to be summer.
If you lost you house i am sorry, my sister got the same a couple of weeks ago, but she still has a sense of humour, plus ,she laughs, her insurance means she gets a new kitchen and washing machine out of it
maybe i get offended at you mocking my forefathers traditional dress, but i dont get upset over it.
you did a good thing by helping others out lets leave it at that..

Just a quick update - Dameon has had to evacuate his house due to the increasing floods. I'm on my way up there in a moment to see how I can help him out.
I never made it to his place last night becasue I spent most of the night pulling stranded cars out of deep flood water, rescuing a drowned ambulance then taking the 'patients' on myself (due to the dead ambulance!) and then ferrying people through the deep water to get them to village halls, pubs and other places of safety.
Police and rescue services are stretched above and beyond their capabilities and if it wasn't for people like Dameon and his monster tractor - the situation would be a lot worse!
Once I've had my dinner (need to keep the energy levels up and feed my fat belly!) I'm off to spend another night doing what I can.
Just keep your fingers crossed for Damo, his family and all the other people who are watching thier homes get washed away!
