Dude, rust is equivelant to the humans body "cancer", you cut it out BUT nothing is permanant ... simply your buying time.. it comes back!! unless you treat it heavily thinking its safe... but like when you kick a football against a wall -- it always comes back!!!

So you asked if it's too (well in your words 'to'
) rusty to fix and whether it's worth saving. Everyone said it's not worth it and that you should break it, and you decide to patch up the shitter.
A decision you will come to regret, that car will be hiding major issues. Check behind the kit, under the carpet, around the fusebox, behind the glovebox etc etc. And you will find more rot.
£1000 later and you will have a car worth about £1.87 more than it is now.

For sale 325i Sport Turbo & 318i (Sport) M50B25
dont bother with the repairs. for the price you have said i doubt the repairs will keep the rust away for long. your a very lucky that you have got that kit and those wheels on youre car so make the most of it and sell it in parts, save a bit of money and you may get back enough to buy an e30 that wont be rotting away as you drive it.
