E30_BO1 wrote:Go on an E36 forum then. The cars are much newer and rust is essentially non-existing in their timeline so far, excuse the 1992 dogs. Much more refined, although heavier the extra power of an equivilant model with 16V engines on the 6 pots makes them superior. Also they don't suffer so much handling -ve's with a 6pot in the bonnet. They are more fuel efficient. The build quality is much better. It is a much safer car to drive in. I could go on but I know this from owning both cars.
your missing the point you peen-arse. They may be all the above but the fact is people on this forum are enthusiastic about the cars they own; they dont want comfort, refinement, etc if they did they would'nt of bought an e30. Its a timeless classic that most people run as a second car because they love them

Clearly the only thing your enthusiastic about it taking co*k and being a twat and a trouble maker so please stop wasting the webspace here and kindly f*ck off!

Why are you here????

You can buy a bargain bucket E30 for £100 or less and run it on a shoestring budget if you want!

Money doesn't matter to me - i'd rather pay upwards of £3k for a 20yr old car i want, than pay upwards of £20k for a car i don't want!! That would be mental!!

It's not about what you could get, it's about what you want.

Everyone wants something different.
Everyone uses their cars for different things.
Everyone is different.

Other than that, it's all been said.
Tell me where I can get an E30 for £100, I will sell it for £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£ on ebay.

if your after a cheapo shitter theres loads out there

but if your after a piece of quality german engineering then you have to pay a premium

if people didnt want them then they would all cost pennies

same old story supply n demand

i personally dnt like the way most new cars look and dnt want a car full of driver aids etc

with an e30 i get the look i like and can put a number of engines in to give me the power i want

as said above i dnt wish to be yet another clone on the road
i want a car that has my presonality and tastes in it
AMEN brother!

I have seen plenty go for that price - just need to keep your eyes peeled!!!!!

I have thought about buying and selling on, but i don't have the time or the space - and why should i deprive someone else of a bargain!!

At the end of the day, it's about what you want and that will depend on what you like and what you use it for!!

As for that build quality comment - you sure you were in an E36??

I can't be ar$ed to write a reply to this thread - it was clearly either written by a retard or a windup merchant & isn't even amusing... I'm quite surprised at how many people have risen to it though :)

No - a reply would have addressed some of the points raised in the initial post; that was an observation. & that's as much time as I'll waste!

Is it half term?

Ha ha, do get the feeling he's not really looking for an E30 - prob just one of those losers that goes on a forum for a few weeks, gets banned/bored, then moves onto the next forum!!

I am really looking for an E30, so go to the wanted section and if you find me one I will grab it off you this afternoon if I can make it there before dark, cash waiting. Oh, interesting how this thread has more replys / views on the front page in the main section of the forum in under an hour; bar the 3.2 E30 conversion. Just shows this is a strong point.

:) I have a very good job thanks - probably goes some way to explaining how I choose to spend some of my money on a decent E30. Really - it's a sunny day & you'll have to go back to school on Monday; can't you find anything better to do?

I shall go and do some work now - don't worry I'll check for your witty & insightful reply later

I bought a 1987 e30 with 2 months MOT and 5 months tax for £100, sold it to scott325se for an interior and he sold it to richy for not much more, richy had it looking damn nice too until an artic took offence to it!

could have had my 318i Lux with 12 months mot and 6 months tax for £350, but I broke it as nobody would travel to fetch it there are cheap ones about if you look hard enough.

If you're really serious about buying an E30, I suggest you stop wasting so much time winding up enthusiasts of the marque who's time would be better spent offering useful advice once you've got off your bitching arse and found one.

Maybe it's a vain attempt at driving the prices down to your lowly level, since you're clearly somthing of an unappreciative skinflint.

i bought an e30 m3 because i WANTED an e30 m3. im not stupid, i just like them and dont like the later ones.

who cares that its not the last word in performance or refinement, i dont like it because it's a bmw, i like it because its an e30 m3. my own dtm car for the road i can drive every day, a car that should never lose and money. plus i've not seen another e30 m3 on the road for months, yet probably see a couple of e36 and a handfull of e46 m3s every day, and 99% of the time they'll be driven by a wanker, or chavved up with tacky council mods.
cheers,

I don't think that the rarer E30's are overpriced at all.

And on the other end of the stick, I bought a mint F plate 316 for £100, but really struggled to get rid of it for £300, even though there was NO rust of any kind on the old girl. SHould have kept it... I'm kicking myself now!

BO - your debatable views aren't welcome on this enthusiasts site. It's like asking a Dubber why he buys a Mk2 Golf when he can buy a Mk3 or Mk4 for the same money... it's all about personal taste. Some of which you obviously haven't got.

True... I have a nice E36 Sport for the same money as a cheap E30 Sport. And I like it. But still, I don't shove it down peoples throats on this site.
