You would hope so. The font is not 100% UK but it's not too dissimilar & AFAIK the country tag is ignored. It's the Stadt stickers that really rock the boat.
However, I just don't get this German plate thing. What makes a slightly different font "Uber Cool"? Is this a unique E30 Zone thing? Do you have to be under 21 to appreciate? Should I remove my door handles & fit a single windscreen wiper too?

I don't see how its any different to any other asthaetic modification - be it body kits, paint jobs, mirrors, wheels, lights, whatever, its a personal preference thing and with a lot of us fitting German plates the cars are more or less standard anyway. I personally think a German car with a German style plate is a lot more pleasing to the eye than our boring (and yellow) plates. It doesn't however mean that I therefore want to indulge in non-factory mods, like for example single-wiper conversions. Changing your plates is just as valid as deciding you want an MTech II or whatever.

andy, I have them on my car I feel they make it look better for it and a little more german and have given it a bit of a more personal touch. Mine are the same as Zausts except for my numbers and letters.
More to the point they are sold "for show use only" if people put them on their car they all know full well they will more than likely get a £30 fine and have to put some UK standard number plates on, so what?
I agree we should all have an opinion but it seems like your fighting a war for us all to be the same

Bollocks to this 24v scrap!
Yeah, i think this is going a bit far really. I dont have a single wiper or shaved door handles. My car is pretty much standard actually and its staying that way but i just because i find german plates more pleasing to look at doesn't mean i want to do things like that to my car. I like subtle things and thats why i bought the plates in the first place because i think it finishes the car off really nicely.

Chill out guys! The shaved handle & single wiper remark was a tongue-in-cheek remark. No personal insult or attack on an individual was intended.
Agreed, each to their own & I'm all for individuality. If you think German plates make your E30 look different & more individual then fine. I'm sorry but I just don't see there being much difference. Do like the //M Power surrounds though.
But hey, in a world of E46's & E36's, isn't an E30 individual anyway?

Had something really funny happen today. I live in quite a rural area and i was driving down the single track road from my house when i met an oncoming car. So i reversed back to let him by and he stopped by me with his window down and asked me if i was lost. It took a while but he soon clicked when i said no in a scottish accent.lol. He realised his mistake and sed, "bloody hell, you wouldn't be lost would you"! then he drove off with a red face.lol Worth every penny i paid already!

Anyone know if you can get UK plates in pressed aluminium? I don't want D tags (do want GB though), but I'd like the 3D metal look. The only ones I can find have a strange curve on the bottom edge...

Andy,
I am 44 and i am going to fit them to my immaculate unmolested E30 318Is english fonts and stadt stickers the car is used very rarely as i have it on a classic policy if i get a £30 pull it won't leave us without a roof.
Each to their own i personally hate the way a guy has spoiled the look of an immaculate M5 i missed out on buying by sticking angel eye headlights and clear backlights on it but at the end of the day it's his car and money.

I didn't say they weren't subtle or tasteful (& as mods go, I think they are) I just said I didn't understand the passion for them. I mean, would Germans be wanting to put UK style plates on their Jags? Maybe they would . . .
True, £30 won't leave you without a roof however you could find yourself paying more than £30. The plates have to conform to UK regulations, failure of which is (according to a serving traffic police officer) Fraud Of Use not to mention Attempting To Pervert The Course Of Justice. Fingerprints & DNA on file for the likes of that.
With an standard font you should be ok but the law may take a dim view of the stadt stickers.
