They've obviously since changed their tune, TBH looking at thes spec of 1155 I could never see why they wouldnt be OK on the road anyway
i think they just put that statement in so there is no legal comeback if someone had an accident and blamed the pads not being warm or summat..

I have just spoken to my brake supplier (3G brakes) and this is what he has said:

"Morning Dave,

Hope you are keeping well. Unfortunately they stopping production of the
Pagid pads as of the 01/06/06 so they have been slowly deminishing stock.
This has lead to there being no Pagids available for the E30.
The new range that has been brought out and that TMD are concentrating their
efforts on is the "Mintex Xtreme". I have used these and they are GOOD!
Seeing as its you, I can do the front 10 groove discs and a set of the
xtreme pads for £***

Let me know if you want them.

Regards,

Kev

I have edited the price out, but has anyone else heard this? and anyone used these mintex pads?

Yes they do dude. Myself and Taxidriver bought ours from GSF. Around £65 for the front set.

Nope the 3G disks are not blue. they are machined on site from brembo castings, optional extra is to have them zinc plated to keep the bells and grooves nice.

£350 is a lot of money, the 280mm WMS setup isn't a HUGE lot more than that (I know it's just the front)... Keep an eye on M5Pilot / E30-z shop for more details.

They are a "snug" fit in the 15" BBS as we found early on today: winkeye

Well there are pads available from EBC in Green (f-road), Red (extreme road/trackday), Yellow (full race) and Blue (Endurance Race).

Also Hawk do a range that fit, as do most other brands, although I've not got the part numbers for them all (if they are listed to fit the Wilwood Dynalite then they are the same standard motorsport type).

Reds are not bad from cold it seems and do a good job of stopping my TOTAL MANIAC of a brother in his 3.5 12V converted E30 "335i" M Touring....

Hawk pads are supposed to be very good, however I've heard off people they coat the wheels in loads of dust that really attacks the wheels and is hard to remove if you dont do it straight away.

Be good for the track on a spare set of rims you dont care about though
Cheers,
Robin

Well the DS2500 dust but not too bad for a performance pad and I seem to remember it came off reasonably easy

I've heard the mintex are far worse for dust
Cheers,
Robin

Most likely

I just found this:
http://www.kad-uk.com/brake_kit_contents.htm
Mintex M1155 pad does not comply with EC Reg 90 and as such is NOT recommended for road use

whats EC reg 90 anyone?

Also I notice it doesnt say if ds2500 is approved or not, though there was nothing about track use only on the box when I got them
Cheers,
Robin

I'd go with Lordschleife on that; no real need for cross-drilled rears! Otherwise, sounds good
