Hmm i can get away with dumping it at around 3.5k or just feeding it slowly at 4k.
Of course i could do with a G-tech and some dry weather! :o

best method (which is a good way to kill the clutch) is to slip the clutch in to aid traction.. Also a small amount of wheel spin is ok as it helps keep the revs up n stops the engine boggin down

If i tried that in mine i'd be sat there spinning the wheels going no where bouncing off the rev limiter :?

Between 2-3k would be a good place to start i think ??

Im fortunate my engines so progressive in its power so its easy to get it off the line! Still im itching to see what it can do 0-60 and 1/4 mile, wish the G-tech had a 0-100 too, i love that benchmark! :(

cause you can run there without ?

i mean , we have to have engine power cuts for car that aren't stock and batery safted up ( scotch on + is the minimal...)

and helmet is the least you must have even to run a small 205 1L6

you guys are dangerous  looool

i hope we get dry road test here soon 8)

yep i though the same untill i saw one of my freinds blow a tire at 300m aprox and the car just whack the other one out into the wall ....

some vids of a referee moving acros the finish line with his car ( very stupid ) during a run and the car coming to the end line just went right through....

now, i do street race friday nights, with helmet lol , but as soon as i get on a legal track , why tack risks ? i mean no cops is going to stop you cause your stoped at the red light wearing a helmet 8)

and it was more of a surprise reaction seeing that official track let you run with out helmets theire the maniacs lol

i think M30 should rev that high as well, al you really need is a good top end and a chip 8)

i love the sound the M20 takes after 6300rpm , saying; move an real engine coming up

trust me it doesnt like revving to 7k, its just quicker that way to 60

used to reach 70 in 2nd when i had the 3.7 open diff wrongness in it

not only it doesn't like it , yep it sounds so metalic at high rpm ; and its useless to acording to the dyno ... the only advantage is that you can get higher up in rpm to the next gear ....
6300-6500rpm is a everyday shift ... advantage on having many chips ans ecu boxes you can just play around with it all
 allthough i allready fell on a mini ' original one not bm lol ' and he just left me on the spot  where other would have moved

i think we should gather al the times , and put them to a sort of table to see what sort af times we get depending of what engine or other... no coparasion but just to have an idea 8)

modd might get it heavy , but , body style, engin size ; power at dyno , and diff ref could be an idea..after it gets really to much info....cams, injectons mods, and all those small things that can be found on our member page

i think power torc is enough and engine size with weight if emptied ( im not loool ) so that we can really see all possible figures....

well, i tried timing my 0-60 tonight in the damp (only with the stopwatch in the OBC) and managed 6.7 secs 8O and this includes fumbling around with the start/stop button aswell as i was the only one in the car.....i don't know whether thats right or not...maybe have ot borrow a gtech at the next meet and give it a go.

don't worry you 'll get beter times if you can get it to start with the least spin , and especialy when it gets hotter as you must be runing summer tuires , and they only work best on road hotter than 7Ԛ°C  under , they are really to hard :(

i persanlay test it again tonioght, way to slippy only manged 15.1 and 14.8 on the second :(

Just borrowed my mates gtech and in damp conditions I got 6.8 to 60 and a 15.4 1/4 mile.

Is that ok for a standard sport with cheap n nasty rear tyres????????????

seems about right to me as i got about the same last night in damp/wet condtions when trying it on a large roundabout, only had the OBC stopclock though not a gtech and i had a boot full of heavy stuff aswell so i don't know wether that helped me or slowed me down?

Just taken the 318iS out...

Decat, piperx filter, zone big bore throttle body. Mildly moist as top gear would say.

All 0-60 runs:

1st: 8.34s
2nd 8.30s

Decided that was consistent enough so didn't abuse the car with a third.

Not bad for 170k miles and 4 cylinders me thinks

nice one if its a 325i  i'd go for smaller tires to see if it gets beter.

Karan : I do have the Z3 zone conversion shifter thingy...
tires : 205 50 15....( but considering i only have 180lbs of torc ( witch is what really counts on a run ) its not to small....
i think that your tires should be a littler widder and lower in profile....that should get you off line in no time...;

my gearbox, standard 325i non sport loool ..... and 3.91 non lsd ....its all in the practice as you are realizing ....it aint that easy to power your wheels to get its best 8)

mind you , on my first 3 or 4 first official runs i had 15.8 times and the same day i manages to get a 15.455. and stay constant 15.5 ( that was with the original 3.73 diff) butt on paper , there like 0.009 sec diff ion the 1/4mile and like .3s on the mile ...and that with my low B25 power not the monster you guys have.... 8)

id even try az 3.64 lsd with your power i think that would get the torc down more efficiqntly  now thats only a idea as do find the 3.73 slower in reacton although i did still manage to stay in front a E30 M3 200 last night ....haray ...looool  .....the rolling race process is less fun with the long diff... :(

ps: remember that camshaft i ordered is not at all the same as your and get me all my torc extra low....and early and constant ... 270/276Ԛ° cam power  i told you i knex what i was doing  i really need a MAF conv

yes i have tried 3.7 diff but it was slower to 60...

i need wider tyres yes... and my rear is very low so camber is shocking

i had 7.2 in my iS ...
the trick is a chiop that enables 60 in 2nd!

when i was testing the short lived zone iS screamer chip a long time ago i got consistent 7.2secs in ythat car and it had:

big tb
powerflow one silencer system
comp leads

and thats it really!! i was able to hang with a type-r with this chip also, but i never ever 1/4 mile tested it unfortunately
