Nah it definitely had the 2.2 lotus 4-pot in it, same as the Esprit I had later. Two of a long list of cars I wish I still had.

Good find that 320, worth keeping intact. You always seem to get 'specials' just before they change or facelift the model guess it uses up the old parts.

There are lots of them not just BMW, most makers do it. We had a late E28 and saw a RHD one we did not recognise then read this from the wiki

"The E28 was still sold in North America as a 1988 Model Year car while Europe received the E34 in early 1988. A limited edition model was also sold in South Africa from mid-1987 to the end of 1988"

I had one of the last E36 M3s that had a few strange bits from the factory.
