I'm not having any luck with this claim! It's like bloody out of a stone with these helmets :?

So what i can tell u 100% is the sport is un insured as of the 15th of Feb, so she's off the road!

I can get insured on the SE with 0 ncb's, 2 my fault accident claims, and a 6 point sp30 for Ԛ£1400 is my best quote so far. With my ncb's i was getting quotes of 500-700 fully comp! :-x

All companys i have spoke to have said if i get my ncb's back they will pay me back the difference. So there is hope. I'll just have to wait for my current insurers to come back with a bill.

So i'm going to just scrape through this and hang on to my baby for now!

Try Admiral mate they always come out considerably less than any one else.

If your getting the SE insured fully comp that means you will probably be able to drive other peoples car third party, so have the sport signed over to someone in your family and you can still drive it

Hang on how much bonus have you got ? Because you only lose 2 years for for the first claim, its only if you have 2 claims with in 2 years that you lose everything, as for the sp30 that is 4 years old thats history and can come off your licence now as it is no longer valid.

hang on! i had 2ncb's coming up 3. I have a big fat 0 at them moment.

the cheap quotes of fully comp etc were with my ncb's on the 325iSE

elephant, i've been with them before when they first started thats why they were cheap to get the business in. Not any more in my experience.

Admiral, might give them a bell kedgy red m-tech tourer

I've got to pay, as the SE is my only option as i can't afford another chariot without selling the sport! So i've decided to pay a bit on the SE so i can keep hold of the old girl.

Once i'm insured on the SE, i can think about saving etc on getting my NCB's back by paying off my old insurers for fixing mateys car! get me?!

For you to drive another car in a third party capacity the car must be insured by somebody because you drive third party through them!

we're going off the original topic a little here.
Steve is correct, to use the "Driving other cars" extension on a fully comp policy, the other vehicle you borrow or whatever and drive on your own cover has to be insured by the owner/ keeper in the first place. Otherwise this would be the most abused loophole, you could insure an 850cc mini fully comp and then have a Porsche 911 on the drive in the wife's name and drive it around third party for nothing, yeah like inusurers would let that happen!

Simon, worth trying to locate an insurance company called Quinn Direct, they are an Irish insurer who have recently started underwriting policies in England & Wales, as with many insurers new to a market, they have bottom dollar rates in order to attract new business and they have a few companies running scared. Your renewal will probably increase dramaticlly, but it gets you on the road at least. Also Easymoney (old stelios is at it again) have just stared doing insurance and there is a no-frills element to this, so if you want legal cover and any other bollocks then you have to add it on.

The Admiral group which comprises of Elephant, Bell Direct, Diamond and of course Admiral are OK, but as Sal pointed out a while ago, if you have a write off claim 2 months into your policy and they pay out, that's your policy done and you have to start over again, after of course you have paid up all your outstanding instalments.

Simon, with the potential cost of the repairs to this bloke's audi, it will almost equal the extra you are going to pay by losing the NCD if you think about it. Example, it costs Ԛ£800 to repair his audi and you reimburse your/his insurers and get your NCD down, is this about the same as your increase without the NCD and no matter what happens, you have to disclose the accidents and will get twatted by insurers NCD or no NCD.

Protecting NCD is a bit of a loss leader in my opinion. All NCD does is give you a % reduction from the gross premium, so if they load up the gross premium in the first place your premium still goes up after having an accident with maximum protecteed NCD. It's a false sense of security which insurers generally charge you Ԛ£60+ per year to protect.

Cheers Lee! but i've gone and insured the SE finally today, even got alloys thrown in too, seeing as i have 6 sets, he he :hammer: silly boy.

It's thrid party only and for Ԛ£1100. It's honestly the best i could find i even had to add for Ԛ£20 legal cover, u would be a fool not to have legal cover in my opinion. So now shes insured and MOT'd i've just got to wait for the certificate of insurance to come through next week so i can tax it. Then i'm good to go, i hope the old thing holds up as a daily hack, it's no spring chicken on 137k and a replaced engine of which i have no clue to the milege! It's in bits again! in the garage whipping the 3.64 LSD out of it for Kos, it going in the M3 turbo! to lead a very hard life!

The sport has served me well for nearly 2 years and over 30,000 miles. Only had one prob with a sh!te non genuine starter motor failing on it 4 days before we went to the ring!

So i can drive both for a few days!
