Yes, adjust the ignition timing first, then you'll probably need to fine-tune the carburettor, in particular the idle mixture setting.

It will be yes.

No don't touch the carb for now. If it was running fine before, get the timing sorted and it should be running fine again. If it's off, then adjust it.

Leave the carb alone.
There was nothing wrong with the set up.
