I've fancied doing my blade a flat fighter jet type colour but not decided yet. The current paint work is starting to get a bit tatty (poor work by the company who had painted it before I'd purchased the bike I suspect playing a helping hand) so may wrap/paint it soon.

Whatever you choose, a wrap may be better than your tin of paint option so you can revert back easier if you do not like it or come to sell it.
AT LAST!!! someone who see's where i'm coming from :D :P

if i had the budget then i would go for a wrap but can't afford it (unless it came from maccy d's).

Perhaps just flat off the existing paint with some wet n dry paper so it can always be buffed back up later?

I have done to an Arab who was parked up in the west end one night and the trophy bird who was sitting in the lambo said I was jealous

I then proceeded to tell her that the only reason she was with the camel jockey was because of his money and she no valid input. She got the arse on, but she was not so politely told by the owner told to shut up because I was right and if he was not driving a lambo she wouldn't be in there with him and she was just a money hungry whore :D

I walked way laughing and got into my e24 and the Arab come running up me and then complimented me on my turd.
He introduced him self and we got chatting about cars and detailing and now when he comes over every sumner takes the car to a friend of mine for detailing and he doesn't bother with wraps.

Moral of the story is that honesty is respected

To wrap a sport will be a pain in the back side. To cover the kit and bumpers will be tedious and hard to make it 100%

To wrap any car properly is a pain in the arse and tedious.

I know a guy who would do an awesome job, but you wouldn't see much change from 2k.

Most modern cars have big rounded bumpers so they are some what easier to do.

Also, the roof and rear quarter panels don't have a swags line or break in the panel to there will be join line somewhere

But it can be done but for proper job it'll be expensive

Better update this,

Off round to see a mate later who has just finished painting his fully restored mk1 transit camper van satin black (hammerite) with a roller (yes really).

A few years ago he did his mk2 golf in satin black (again with a roller) & then gave a coat (or several) of gloss black & even now several years down the line it still looks spot on (& no he's not a vag fag/hag, he hates all that scene crap).

Looking forward to seeing what his transit looks like :-)

used to always paint my offroad jeeps etc with a roller once the paint was wrecked ,makes for a 10 ft car - looks alrite from 10ft away just hard to get in at edges like door pillars etc .. ok for a nail you dont care about if your building something you want people to think looks good including yourself dont use a roller

Sunny, I know what you mean, I forgot to add that when he did the paint he applied the first 3 coats with the roller then the final top coats & clear coats with a hvlp electric sprayer,

Having seen the van earlier I have to say the results are very good seeing as he used hammerite satin black,

I know a few on here will bitch & moan about what paint he used & well he seems happy with it.

Thought I'd better update this :o:

Right then, after lots of thinking & searching Google images it looks like I might be going for (dark) battleship grey gloss/metallic,

Got a few spare (scrap) wings & other panels in the yard & know where I can get a few time of this shade very cheap so when the weather dries up  & I get a chance I'm going to paint them up & see how it look's.

But - aren't you in your 40's? Old enough to know better perhaps. But it's clearly not a particularly nice example anyway.

40's?? That's a way off yet, the car is a nice enough example but the paint is getting old & tired & I just feel like a change nowt wrong with that,

If I can get it mixed up I might even go for dolphin grey metallic ;)

Also sometimes it's better to be nice or not say anything at all, rather than being a complete c**t

I'm sorry, but your "honesty" makes you look like an idiot!

Why bother going out of your way to put someone else's life down? Granted the chick was probably with him for the money, but why do you feel the need to point this out to both of them? I'm sure they're both aware of the situation...

We have been doing spray wrapping for 9 months in our bodyshop. We did a Cayman in metallic matte gunmetal the other week, I'll post a pic of the colour when I get home.

Plasti dip is one of the market leaders, all depends what colour you want. Certain colours are better in different brands of product.

The metallic gunmetal was not Plasti-dip, the plasti-dip greys are not amazing.

Hi, Jamie said this is a custom satin colour we had mixed for the customer. It is basically satin gunmetal with extra flake, enjoy.
