Nobby I can't believe you don't see the minty value of my Tech Kit.

You must need a sight test! :D

Can any zoners point me in the right direction for international couriers?

Who to use and how best to package up?

was it an ebay sale or on here ?

tbh id be very wary about selling a £500 item abroad via a forum/paypal , and a few weeks/months later get a chargeback scam 8O

a charge back- ANYONE !! who uses paypal can do it, its where you just ring credit card company/bank up , and say you didnt authorise this payment

card/bank then automaticly reverses the payment, puts it back in their account, paypal automaticly take it back from your account- swallow funds in account, or put account in to the minus , then send you messages sayng your accounts negative resolve it/pay up !!

then- its down to you

if it all went through ebay, a legitimate sale, you sent items recorded delivery and theres signed for proof with royal mail, to his address, your ok , as you put details to paypal, its then paypal vs his card company

if your in the right 100% facxtual proof, it blatantly looks like hes a scamming c%%t , paypal do not have a leg to stand on, put your account back to what it was

then they take it up with his card company to reclaim the cash, maybe resulting in him getting in hot water with police/his card company and fraud etc

BUT- i was just highlighting - it potentialy is very easy for an "unknown" /non regular forum user, particularly from abroad, and maybe counties with an almost 3rd world postal system, or if he lives in a near untraceable way etc etc - to buy an expensive item from here, pay youl, you ship it, he dissapears

then you dont really have any "ebay" sort of proof and cover, i have no idea in that case what would happen if he did a charge back

worst thing- it can be months after delivery

not saying that will happen, have no idea obviously who or where the buyer is or even if he sent paypal

but all sellers on here should be careful of such scammers , particulaly if a new/unknown member not a regular, buying an expensive item via paypal

best thing to do, is always bear this in mind on here, add the ebay fee amount, in to price negotations, and when a sale is agreed- say ok wel go through ebay, make sure its always sent fully tracked, and youl be ok, the ebay fee can sometimes be worth the cover that you cant get scammed for 5 ton !

You are correct about paypal. That is why you want the buyer to use a bank cashiers check....and never a personal check:).

If you're abroad I'd recommend getting in touch with a fellow Zoner, if they're local to the part, go have a look, get it, you could transfer the money to them, Ebay is safe with paypal because the transactions are all recorded and tracking numbers are requiered etc. Always pays to be extra cautious when buying something on-line!
