Sport haterrrrrrrrr :)

Ok gr ... Why did Bmw make an "m///" badge ?? When the m3/5 had their own respective badges
It's a fantastic marketing tool.
M-Technic is the brand name of sporting accessories designed by Motorsport but fitted to standard BMW models.
Is a sport a M car? no
Does it had goodies from the Motorsport division? Yes
Why give it a M-technic badge... MARKETING. People assume Motorsport rather than M-technic.

Because people will pay stupid prices for tat with a badge on; any "sport" shop will tell you that.

Might as well replace "M" with "JJB"

One says M3 or M5 which has its own meaning ..
The other just says M ... which means it's normal but with a few tweaks ...

Don't see the problem myself .....

If you don't know BMWs then maybe there is a misunderstanding ....

Is the badge plastic like the rest of the plastic crap on the Mtech cars?

Kind of is, M-Technic suspension, bodykit/aero package which had M-technic badges on it from the factory, M-tech steering wheel, had the badge on from the factory, gear knob had the stripes on from the factory
M-Technic does not equal Motorsport..
At no point did I say it did, nor did Brian he just said 'M'

My point is it wore the stripes and the ///M badge elsewhere on the car from the factory, why would it not be deserving of it on the bootlid? The fact is, the ///M badge is also used for the M Technic brand, of which items were fitted to the Sport out of the box, therefore a badge is warranted in my opinion. Whether a marketing tool or not, they were fitted by BMW so it's fair game. Now if you werw a spoon that fitted M3 badges, or Alpina or Hartge badges to something that wasn't then thwre would be an argument against it

IIRC,no Sport (tech 2) came from the factory with this. They were just the standard "black" type emblem.
The tri-stripe emblem was a (dealer) option just like the grill badges.Lots of Sports had both fitted from new though.

Fit em or don't fit em...it's personal preference, either way it wont alter BMWs model code for whatever e30 you have.

Fair enough. I mean I'm not the biggest fan of them, mine will be coming off when I paint my grille and when the car gets painred the boot badge will be off

M535i had a ugly body kit anyway. The standard 535i seems much rarer now.
