its all good argos mate, youve not sounded like an arsehole at all, everyone says the same things to me over the years"why bother" or "you could have bought a new car for that" but ive never had a lump sum like that to spend its been in dribs and drabs over 8 years, the biggest single item being the cossie engine. problem with projects is they start off small but snowball out of control until you hit a point where you have spent so much that you have to see it through
anyway im off to watch top gear now should be a good one tonight

Much as I love the E30, if I was in the financial bracket to afford such cars as a Ferarri, I can assure you I wouldn't be driving an old dog of a car (in comparison) like the E30.
Or... are you talking about the type of Ferarri they showed on last Sunday's Top Gear? Hey, I can afford a Ferarri too
I didnt ask to speak to your accountant ...and i din't mean a 412 either if i said i can afford a ferrar i meant a something a bit more expensive than a new bm convertble....

Why do you feel the need to blag about how much money you have on an internet forum, where nobody really cares!
If you can, then good for you, i hope you enjoy it!

got to dissagree, the O2 is special and a worthy winner. nobody in this country has modded a true old skool bm, there are a few in the process, dips e21 will be one of them. the jagermeister is top quality but it lack a bmw engine which spoils it for me, but the work gon into it is phenomenal like ruis/azvedos last years winner. darys is amazing and clean but needed "somthing" to make it really stand out. i am in no way critisizing the car, but a nice set of leathers and big brakes are needed to give it an edge and defining character??Gouki wrote:back on topic regarding the car of the year, I think thats the wrong choice. No offense to you BMW enthuiasts out there but I think the 2002 is nothing special what so ever, its butt ugly and looks like a pig! The cars that should have got the award should have been Daryl's M3 or that stripped out orange E30.
the O2 you cannot call it butt ugly, why i hear you say, its my opinion and the winner voted from thousands of readers world wide, and its unique to an extent. for a comparison i'll put it this way, daryls is clean m3, with a nice set of wheels and some good engine work, realisticly there are quite a few like it, maybe 50 in the uk, and a few more world wide, look at s14.de and maybe 335.de, there are quite a few M3's which give his a run for its money easily getting to 1000 cars wold wide. the o2 has custom body mods and a stuning colour which are tastefully done and not taking away from the original lines, a legend of an engine and debatably the best wheels ever produced. how many do you see at that spec. yes the are a few on a particular website maybe 50( i think thats the quoted fugure), but thats world wide. i know of one in the uk which could compare it. yes its down to personal taste again like you and your cabrio which certainly raises a few eyebrows, and ive heard some comments about it that may upset you.

This just proves the point that we're all different and so like different things. I'm from the school of kits and big wheels and bling. In-fact the only cars i've owned that havent had the fcuk chopped out of them have been 3 M3's, but even they were treated to bigger, wider wheels. If you look at it in terms of pure money, then i've blown about Ԛ£100k on cars over the years and all i have to show for it is the Rieger and the blue cab in my sig. Ho and my 1.4 Polo
Now i didnt set out to spend that kind of money believe me, but that's the troble with true modding. You do one thing, then another and it just snowballs out of control before you know it. Does any of you really think i would have spent the amount on the Rieger that i have, had i known in the beginning? Hell no. I love that car, but if i could go back, i'd buy a E46 M3 cab, a nice E30 Cab and still have enough money to go on holiday to Thailand and get me some special sucky, sucky, but what's done is done and that's the way life is. My mate runs his own business, so spending Ԛ£100k on a car is nothing to him cause he can afford it. Hell he's currently got a Z3 in the garage being done up for his missus and a 8 series that he's also about to spend another fortune on and he's in his 50's, but like i said, the man can afford it.
I do agree that this thread is starting to go off topic a bit, with snidy little personal digs at individuals and the whole point i posted the thread was to enjoy the fact that the E30 is going through somewhat of a rivival, so lets enjoy that and forget about who can afford what and or who has spent what on their car
As for Mr Pete, there's nothing much i can say cause like him or not he makes you laugh with almost every post so lets leave him alone
