What did you do to your E30 today?
Moderator: martauto
I washed mine and then drove it. It was cold. It drank lots of fuel. Usual then.
Fitted the arm rest in tonight, sat in the car and had a fag. That's how i do.

Laid it up for winter till all the crap weather has passed.
made a start on another "replica" (copy) griffin head to put into storage till it's needed.
going to be giving the sport a mini resto as & when I get a chance.

I 'work' by that I mean, I go into the office 9-5, if I do any work is another thing entirely.kieran325 wrote:Does anybody actually work ?
It seems most of ya are fixing em through the day.

Currently working on the car in the evenings.
Last night I adjusted the prop, fitted the diff and other rear drive gear, then found out I have a snapped spring.

Opened the car, mopped up 3 litres of water out of the rear footwells, got it in the garage, fitted a welded diff, the put it back outside to leak a bit more lol.
Opened garage to look at the 2nd one, sighed cos i know i've got shit loads to do on it, shut the garage.

Nothing as I am 100 miles away from it at the mo
Got the carpet to take out on Sunday to check the footwells plus confirm where the rear drivers side pocket puddle is emanating from
Then figure out how to get it in the garage.........which is very full of other stuff.

and she's BACK!!!
Actually Autohaus dropped her back yesterday but I didn't have chance to test drive until this evening. What a difference
It was the Blue Temp Sensor after all so it's back to rock steady 750 rpm idle, no hesitation off-idle with full or part throttle. In fact, she's now got a thoroughly modern feeling throttle which I didn't realise the E30 could manage. Awesome. I'm really glad that I've got a proper BMW specialist garage in the area with two Master Techs (or ex-master techs I suppose) who grew up on E30s

byron fitted mt 2.5 engine, took the 1.8 rattler out. Fitted mtech badges, gave it a clean, snapped accelerator cable from being too heavy footed. Ordered rh topline wheels.
Plans are fit new wheels, fix electric roof, fix passenger side electric mirror, stop boot leaking, fit passenger wing and door, fit mtech2 pods and skirts, full respray, then job finished. Factory fresh.
Not too far to go then

Did about 50 miles today, car ran as sweet as you like. So chuffed. Also, OBC is now showing 21.7 mpg instead of 17.5 - check your blue temp senders folks! I was getting poor mpg long before I had any running issues.
Apologies to people whose economy figures I disbelieved in the past!

Inhaled vast quantities of petrol vapour, mopped up puddles of petrol pissing all over the drive/road & eventually snipped the perished fuel breather pipe, refitted it and jobs a good'un! The 6 hour drive to North Wales tomorrow will test this 'repair'....

that's this year and next year done then and back in the garagekieran325 wrote:I went out in the M3 yesterday, filled it to the brim with super unleaded and had fun for the afternoon. I'm going to go out for an early morning hoon on New Years Day when the roads are quiet
