Expanding foam and cardboard FTW ! :D
Yes but what type of cardboard Pete? Everetts weapon of choice is the frosties box.

As for the car in question it looks fairly clean in the pictures, but it's ignorant to assume a car is a 'bargain' from some pictures. Tbh there is no such thing as a bargain with old shitters now.

This is the car I bought seems o.k no mention of the cat c status on the logbook
Not too fussed really as the car is solid in all the right places .History is a bit misleading but the mileage and owners tally up

Cat C isn't displayed on the logbook, would make bloody good sense if it was.

Polsta can't agree with you more bud

This car will be used and enjoyed and turned back to standard over time I'm not a fan of the door cards wheels clear lenses and number plates apart from that its standard. Back to the car c status I was aware of it when I did my hpi check . But don't know why it's not on the bottom of the logbook

From what I can see it has had the o/s rear quarter painted as the colour match ain't too great .There is no impact or structural repairs to this car .As with all old cars even the smallest of scrapes deems the a total loss cat c . I don't intend on selling this car as it,s a keeper been looking for a tech 1 sport for ages and I got this cheap

The car drives spot on no tappet noise. Plenty of power no smoke knocks bangs
Just the few dents and scratches and slightly different shade of paint on the quarter
Will get a thread started once I have got a few days off work

welcome to the lachs club , best color for the tech 1 i think, not many left around now days, you can either buy one for 5-6k thats said to be decent, or buy one cheap and do the do with it then end up with a car you know inside out, thats decent

id recomend you search out and read through my thread, from my own expirience, and what would put me off buying a 5-6k one, is its a must to get the dash and floor fully stripped at some point , my floor looked ok but i found a few small issues underneath the sound deadening which i fully removed, they are old cars and probably all have issues there

get all the boot carpet fully removed and a good inspection of the rear panel,as they are prone tech 1 areas too

then the kit removal stage is the real teller, i drove mine around all the summer i bought it, before getting to work on that, wanted to enjoy the car for a while, glad i did as its been off the road about 15 months so far

Hi polsta will be giving a giving it a good going over soon bud . I just want to enjoy driving it as I mentioned in my previous posts I have been searching for a tech 1 in lachs for ages . And as you say they are rare I can't agree more. I have a few cars in my collection including a mk1 golf Gti which is undergoing a light restoration I also have 2 very rare 2nd generation Honda prelude 2.0 16v Gsi,s . And finally a few phase 1 Peugeot 306 Gti 6 in the very rare Cossack grey . Will be looking through your project thanks raz

Come up with some money then? Funny that you wasted my time leading me on with buying my interior, and even starting to sort out a courier, and me wasting time measuring it up etc. Then you turned around and said your car had unexpectadly gone in for a full respray (it's amazing how many times my car catches me out by going for a full respray as well by the way), and after all that you are off considering buying a car.

Don't waste my time.

Thanks polsta she will be mint when I finish with it
Planning on keeping it for at least 5 years. It will be coming off the road when the tax finishes in may
That's when the resto will start had a good look around when I first got it arches and sills are solid and have been replaced in past and are done to a good standard. Only bits of rust which are visible are drivers door lock , around the ariel on the n/s quarter paner and finally the near the rear number plate lights and just under the o/s/r light

sounds like its a rear panel job, get the rear bumper and boot carpet out and youl have a clearer idea what its like, if you need rear quarter and painting its not so bad, a new genuine bmw rear panel is £150 i think i paid, it had had a couple of previous repairs behind the bumper/kit,and as yours some rust around the number plate lights (they all go there) so rather than try mess about and labour of trying to fix it, it was more economical and beneficial to put a new panel in, as even if you do try patching it up, faffing about with the bits around the lights and stuff, then its got to be repainted anyway and will forever be chasing it, a nice new panel is good for another 20 eyars

yes its a scorpion i like the sound of it , not too loud but sounds awsome when you give it some, my car has 17" pina reps when i got it, i hated the ride , when i took them off and sold them, the tyres were new no long before i bought it, but rear inside edges were mullered 8O no good to have them on there, ive got a set of gold, and a set of silver bbs, at some point i want to get 162 alpinas or hartge wheels for it, just gotta get it all finised and re built and back on the road before i can think about things like that, the cars been away since about june

I'm after a set of genuine "16 alpinas too can't wait till I ditch the "17s as the ain't doing the ride no favours
Hunting for the scorpion system too. I have found a 6 branch manifold and evolution Motorsport chipped ecu which I will be collecting tommorow then I have a genuine rear blind which I need to get fitted busy weekend ahead just feels nice driving a old car and spending time sorting it to my liking
