I was thankful of your exposed crack Pete, it was taking Rav's attention off my hairy chest.pacerpete wrote:The carefully regulated crack exposure was for Ravs benefit, I am trying to get some wheels off him cheapmagpie wrote:Pete and Andyboys humour is certainly different![]()
fantastic crack Petei'll buy you a snake belt for christmas out of the steering linkage funds. That vinyl one has clearly snapped
I had a great time, was good to catch up, as well as put faces to names. Thanks to Diddler a great host when we invaded his pikey parlour, and to Pete for saturday nights grub (I hope you didn't spend too much). Top weekend

Only spotted two E30's on the M1 southbound this evening,a very clean white cabbie, top down and two up,and a black 318iS with it's run number still on the rear window.
Plenty of more recent BMW's,that could, just, have been to Pod...

LOL, you walking to the pikey site after your purchases was shocking, as most of POD could see your crack, no belt, big jeans, and a bit of weight loss after going to the shitter made you thinnerpacerpete wrote:I'm going to the cops, The cooont has effectively obtained crack by deception . 15.1 and 91 mph was best on the day ,the car has done better at york dragway earlier this year but there was no headwind then.

so what engine are you using to get 13.4 at the min i have an evo6 ran it at york this year got a 12.8 (352 bhp) and an addiction to drag racing to boot ( i have been going from an early age but it was first time racing) anyway long story short erm er, i have a e30 cab in the garage with an m50 engine in that i fitted its all done ready to go (need the roof finishing, going to get a hardtop instead) but i have neglected it for around 5 years because of the roof,im selling the evo and going use the e30 to race but have no idea what kind of times a m50 e30 will run im thinking it will need a turbo conversion to be getting into 13`s even ?

Was a good day even though I've never seen the pod so quiet. Nice to meet a handful of zoners I'd never met before. And good to see the guys I'd met before. DanThe, it was an impressive effort to get your chromie sorted before chuck out time! Loved that big 7 v8 auto going up the strip, made me chuckle! E30 of the day - had to be the c reg moredoor chromie... I loved it! Looked just like it rolled out of a Sytner's somewhere!
What queers put their fingers in their ears for the Santa pod jet? (besides me)

Mick, a soft rear end is good for drag racing as the weight transfer help grip off the line

It does help on low powered street cars with street tyres. This is how the "gasser" style dragsters came about back in the 60's as tyres were shite, so they sat the cars up really high to help the weight transfer.rich318i wrote:sorry but i think not.. as the power is wasted pushing the rear end downE30BeemerLad wrote:Mick, a soft rear end is good for drag racing as the weight transfer help grip off the line
Purpose dragsters with drag slicks etc are a different ball game.

Its not so much power, more weight transfer that pushes the rear down and the front up, the weight transfer still occurs with hard suspension but the suspension doesnt soak it up so worst way you either get wheel spin, or axle tramp which is what I had when the CV exploded

There were plenty of axle tramping motors yesterday, spotted e39 m5's did it the most... Rears hopping on the surface of the road. Surprising how there's so few 'wallet casualties' at the pod really. Without sounding a bit like a weirdo... But I think a good pull off is a softer pull off anyway? A wheel spin isn't going to win the drag. I discovered that on my first ever run, I let myself down spinning up in 1st n 2nd, so the next time I tried a more gentle take off and made much better progress and a better time and top end... Am I opening up myself for a verbal beating now or what?!

I'll check with the manager

The start is sooo important. My mate in his 130i took an E39 M5!mercdriver wrote:There were plenty of axle tramping motors yesterday, spotted e39 m5's did it the most... But yeah i saw the rear axle tramping on the e39 M5s and it looked like the rear axle was taking a proper beating. Did laugh at the bloke who dumped all 400bhp of his e92 M3 near redline and it blew the prop doughnut or the diff i think....
