OK, so after my balls-up yesterday
I may as well add my post back in.
My Touring was registered as Hxxx PWP in Worcestershire. From then until '99 it was in and around London/Tunbridge Wells. Then it found its way to Fleet/Farnborough. By 2003 it was in Warwickshire and I brought it to the North East in early 2004. So it's been around a bit.
My theory on the "why are a lot of E30's registered xRD" is that RD was a Reading registration, so they may have been registered by BMW GB.

Incidently,although i've changed my plates,it did originally end FFH which means it was registered in Gloucester,although it was sold originally by D!ck Lovett in Swindon,and in all that time it's stayed in this area.
