Yeah, Poland's so advanced that your impoverished UK office software can't handle it. Hold on, I'll try and dumb it down a bit so that it runs on the Commodore 64's you're all using....

Last time I was in Warmia Mazury, it wasn't that advanced
Microsoft is for girls
PMK, I'm guessing the figures will be in Zloty, so divide by 5
On a side note, the scary thing is that the UK telecommunications infrastructure is behind the rest of the world. Because we started earlier, older tech is still in place..
Funny factoid on the back of this, if BT ripped the entire copper network out and replaced it with fibre, they'd recover every penny by scrapping the copper.
Will they though? Nah will they f*ck! this is the UK

Funny you mention that, because they take the absolute p*ss when routing cable. I'm only 2.2km from my exchange (as the crow flies) yet my line is routed 4.3km which results in 1.7mbps max download and 0.5mbps upload... at least it's consistant.Barx325i wrote: Funny factoid on the back of this, if BT ripped the entire copper network out and replaced it with fibre, they'd recover every penny by scrapping the copper.

Though I do wish I still had Virgin's glorious 120mbps... even if their "Superhub" is not so super... (Just SSH in and you'll see why...)

The not so Superhub sends back and forth every 4 hours or so, a log file containing every little activity on that Superhub, further more, they are control-freaks (like most ISPs). Why? Well if you do a bit of research, you'll find that if you SSH into the router, there's a ton of features which haven't been added to the main GUI. An example before the R30 firmware update, would be the ability to use modem-mode, which enables you to use your own god damn router instead of theirs.
When people found that out, they were goin' nuts, lol. They proved that it was there and Virgin was just too lazy to add it. Well after all the complaining the added it, but didn't implement it very well, and they also blocked access to port 22 on the router so you can't SSH in and change it.
IMO, as much as their broadband is good, the router they use is a total P.O.S. It has bad wireless signal range, drops out, overheats, resets itself every 12 hours, power levels chop and change their mind, the list goes on and on mate. The customer support could do with some refining as well. They talk to you like your dumb. I once told them I wanted to talk to tech-support, I didn't want to here their scripted BS. I got put through straight away and thankfully the tech-support guy was actually a modest guy and explained what was wrong when I called.
