last owner has had it since 2000I assume it's earmarked for yours? That or grey sports are the only changes i'd make to the spec or mine now. Hope it's not been too neglected!
Will take some pics tomorrow, might wash it on the way home at a garage jet wash, cant bring it home because my mother will hit the roof if she sees another car so its going to my lockup until i can break the news slowly during a conversation, preferably when she has had a few drinks.

what engine, auto or manual?Andyboy wrote:My '89 E32 has about 298'000 miles - the head's never been off and it's on the original clutch. I took the front timing covers off last year to sort an oil leak and put a new timing chain and tensioner blade on for good luck - I needn't have bothered. It's always had regular oil changes and the engine is as clean as a whilstle inside. It uses no oil and does what it did 23 years ago, as a properly made and expensive car should.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

I'am unsure what to do with it at the moment.
Needs following work and this is just a quick glance may be hiding more may not.
2x jacking Pads
2X new front wings
one patch on passengers side inner arch
and one small bit of welding near rear light.
and a small patch where they all go above where brake line enters engine bay
Never drove an e30 thats felt so tired and fooked in my entire life to be honest.
Steering was perfect, as was the whole front end but the rear end is very interesting, gearchanges when on the throttle give a good kick to the rear suspension. Gearstick is like stiring soup although i expected that to be honest.
to be honest its a pretty honest car, original stereo still fitted, owner i bought it off was in his 60s and had it since 1999
Slight problem with the running when cold, missfires coughs and splutters, also runs at just over the blue marker not even quarter, my mate following said it stunk of fuel when i gave it the beans, i assume that will be it overfueling thinking its cold.
headlining shagged, not saggy but dirty and split.
original floormats still present.
Stacks of history and stamped service book till last year.
tappets loud, more tax than advertised, 2 keys, every single tax disk and mot. and its the only e30 ive had with projector lights that actually work
shit wiper blades, has head light wash wipe but wipers have been took off for some strange reason, looking through the history, its had new brake lines and brake hoses recently, along with new windscreen.
Accelarator as stiff as the clutch pedal
also has a map light mirror which is a bonus.
My theory is
New accelator cable, Two wings, some welding and a fooking good clean, some decent used gear linkage and prehaps some new bushes on the rear end and it should be a decent chariot. no perfect e30 but usable. Seems a hell of alot quicker than the shagged sport i had. once the se skirts and carpet is out i will know better on its future

Woops my foot slipped

bit of Proding with the keys

Again used my keys strangely the other side is really good

Got a close up of the radio, looks a touch too new for '89.
