Yeh she back on the road finally finished the temp repairs to get her rolling at 21:30 on saterday night.
I found some shocking wiring under there so spent a couple of hours sorting that out. The horn sounded really week on her when I 1st got her so I installed a aftermarket Air horn on her. Now that the wiring is sorted the original horn is back to its full glory. I decided to leave the extra horns on there as well. It made me jump a mile when I press it and the stupid granny talking on her mobile phone while deciding to pull out in front of me on a roundabout.
I'm dropping her of at gare30 's body shop tonight where he assured me he can work miracles with the bits from my donor car for the resto and respray he reckons he can get it back to me for the weekend so I can get the stripes back on her ready for wed meet in Portalbort.
Also Blitz877 has offered to help me and do a few jobs on her before then as well( Timing belt engine mounts etc). So big shout to these 2. gare30 is going to up photos on the progress as he goes along. So check back if your interested and want to follow progress. Apparently he is doing a total restore on a shitner for a magazine shoot in a few weeks so she should be in good hands

stop talking shit! every panel that got taken off was virtually rust free. The way you carry on you would say x works M3 is a filler filled disaster area. She is going to have a major strip down at some point in the future. But this is work to get her looking good and back on the road as I aint Mr money bags at the moment. So if you would kindly take your bolox else ware if you do not appreciate some good hard work going on herepacerpete wrote:Tiger seal and P40 FTW !

The Tiger seal and P40 comment was a reference to the previous 'repairs'
Pull the carpet up along the sills, remove the boot carpets and have a good look under the dash and then tell me I am talking sh1t !

At least its going back on the road for the meantime and not being savaged for bits
Trust me Dan, this turd was way beyond my trowling capabilities !
My involvement with said turd was partially stripping the interior and boot to remove the Blaupunkt New york, leads and BQA 160 amp !
Even by Haps standard this was no nice 'pina !
Luckily for knightmare it has since been 'restored' cough......
* Safety conversion = replace 2.7 with 2.5 and fit open diff !

So when did this all happen?
strange that a 2.5 can dino 206bhp and a open diff leave a pair of 11's when pulling off????

think what hes saying is it does have an alpina engine and lsd but not the originalpacerpete wrote:

Ah right think i worked it out hes one of the asshole that originally fraged it for its bits and sold it on to some pore geezer ripping him off. Then Alan Wood bought it off him and spent 2 years welding it and restoring it before it ended up on the cover of the July 2005 issue of total BMW.
And according to that issue which I have a copy of. It is the original Alpina engine that came with the car. Alan wood bought an Alpina engine from some guy in north London (your mates?) and when he checked the numbers it was found to be the original one that came out the car.
So all the crap hes talking about has long since been welded up years ago and new inner and outer wings front and back have long since been fitted.
So if i am working this out right it would have been 8- 10 years ago that you last saw it? When u were probably a mouthy little teenager helping the big boys strip a car?

Yes you are right, Allan wood did manage to get the original engine back but his "restoration" wasn't what you would call a good standard!knightmare wrote:Ah right think i worked it out hes one of the asshole that originally fraged it for its bits and sold it on to some pore geezer ripping him off. I have seen and been in the car after it had been restored, before you bought it and i can tell you now that the front wings were starting to rot out, the C pillar was rotting from the inside out and there was a hole in the bulkhead near the battery tray that had been bogged up with tigerseal!
Nice pina hap!

I am aware of a hole in the bulk head but the wings are fine. will have to take a look at the C pillar when i get her back. But the way you and your mate have carried on is i think totally despicable and i think you have now shown your selves to be true assholes who like to big them selves up by putting other peeps down.
I am not going to let you stop me enjoying my car which I think looks good, goes like stink and handles well (apart from if i put my foot down to early in the wet)

Yes the car has now been reunited with its original engine (I put the 'seller' and Wood together) and it has since been refitted with an LSD, shame about the rest of it.........
I couldnt give a f*ck what people think. Hardly "bigging myself up", just telling it how it is.
