I may be able to do it without the group buy.
Jon, are you guys able to get hold of the Jetex stuff at Janspeed? Bit weird but it'd be easier for me to come pick something up rather than get it delivered also it's always nice to be able to use a local company.

Magpie, cheers for that. looking at where the exhaust exits the bumper, i reckon 3" would be a pretty good fit.

Yes we can, but we are going to get charged around £12 postage per unit, which I would have to pass on. I could do it for £170. Not a huge saving, but otherwise it just isn't worth the hassle, the margins are so small.

iirc, Spuerspint do/did one for the iS and loads went for that. Maybe you'll hunt down a 2nd hand one?

Otherwise, if you have a custom one made for 450/500 or whatever, you could still make back a decent amount back for it should the worst happen. Especially since so many iS owners stuggle to find them.

What condition is your iS in? If the body is good and generally a cleanish car (but you said could conk on you anytime?) why dont you aim your priorities towards making her run sweet? A suggestion, but I dont know the state of your car obviously!!

Good luck!

Cheers for the info on the Supersprint stuff, i'll have a look about on the Bay an that.

I doubt it's actually gonna break down (touch wood actually!) i just meant that it's now a 20 year old car with 120k miles on it and i didn't pay very much for it so it seemed a bit silly to go and buy an expensive system which was nearly half the value of my car. The iS is generally pretty good, has a slight fuel drip when on the choke but i can't see that costing much to do and that's it. May well need a couple of bits doing for MOT but nothing terminal.

I didn't really want to go all out on the lil E30 as if anything Japanese with a turbo on the side comes along at a decent price, i'll probs snap that up. The E30 was just gonna be my daily but i just fancied making it sound a bit nicer as i'm driving it alot at the moment and if i can do that for cheap(ish) then it would be nice.

I know what you're saying about priorties tho, but most of the lil niggly bits that are wrong with it will hopefully cost next to nothing to put right so leaving me with a few bob to have fun with :)

Very happy with it mate, not too loud, just a little deeper sounding than standard. If you are looking for a much louder exhaust then probably best looking at a custom stainless job.

I dont have a cat on mine, and the jetex fitted fine.

AFAIK cat cars have the cat itself plus two silencer boxes and the non cat just have an extra silencer box in place of the cat, (3 silencers in total) so although its referred to as a cat back system it fits both.
