Haha, I have no issue with 24valves if I wasn't as well endowed as I am and perfectly comfortable with my sexuality I'd have probebly dropped one in my engine bay too.
But alas I haven't yet felt the need. 12 valves is plenty for me, not compensating for anything here.
Brilliant results though, whats next?

Does the 3.0 m54 stuff drop straight into both the m50 and 52 blocks?
Any chance you could knock together a 'sticky' for the zone?

Now now, no need to be completely delusional now.. There is nothing to accept, there will be many M52's left when the last M30 gives up the ghost in a puddle of it's own oil and coolantRav335uk wrote:Johnno, just accept the fact, these engines will outlast the plastic stuff even when the plasic goes to the scrapyard.Jhonno wrote:What? M30's were built to last, and have proven that upto now.

Nothing to write about, bore sizes are the same, so are the bearings/shells, ive not tried an M50 block but I cant see why there would be a problemoldroydsr4 wrote:Does the 3.0 m54 stuff drop straight into both the m50 and 52 blocks?

Rav dear,,, the M50B25 I dropped into the the white car in my sig had 190k miles up it when it came out of the E34, I did over 50k miles with that engine as a daily driver and only HAD to replace a coilpack due to neglect from a previous owner.Rav335uk wrote:Maybe, but how many M5x's were doing that after about 12 mths from new????

Out of a matter of intrest how many miles would you expect the more modern engines to do?
Dan what are the benifits of using the M3 exhuast over a custom system? Would it not be too small as it's for a smaller engine in terms of cc and cylinders or is it not a factor?
I would be intrested to hear the car with a different system on as I have always found the 24v engines to be more mute in their sound over the old 12v donks, but then it's personal taste with this. I remember my old mans 540i always sounded muffled with it's exhuast and engine noise.

Or another way, your car is immature, always reving it's bollocks off to show off, where as mine is Distinguished and cruising along.DanThe wrote:Soiling an E21 with an M30 is a treacherous crime![]()

The 24v engines wound totally different in e30s. At least mine have done. My non vanos m50 i had was loud but sounded gorgeous, you'd actually struggle to have a conversation but i quite liked it that loud in the cabin.Felix79 wrote: I would be intrested to hear the car with a different system on as I have always found the 24v engines to be more mute in their sound over the old 12v donks, but then it's personal taste with this. I bought an e36 328i and it was really quiet in the e36... put the engine in an e30 and its a different kettle of fish - again it sounds gorgeous and completely different to what it sounded like in the e36. But its alot quiter inside the cabin - but still barks when you poke it!

Cheers for explaing , I guess that's going to be some serious wonga for an orginal M3 system off an e30. I would have assumed you would use a modded system. Will the be any issues with you trying to fit the m3 system to a RHD car?
I remeber what your car was like at the pod last year as I was one of the few from the zone that ended up going against you on the strip. I guess the sound of the exhuast gasses comming out of my own arsehole was dulling out the sound of your car as I was going up the strip!
