Bores are slightly smaller and blocks are the same it think. I was going to go down this route before I decided to bore my B25 out to 86mm instead.

As I understand it all that's needed is to take the B20 out to 84mm and new rings. Dan will let you know the in's and outs. winkeye

Good deal got there!!! I always wonder how people feel when something ends up selling for so little and know the new owner will be round to collect it soon while thinking it should have made so much more :P

With Dan 5 mins up the road, you should have it all done and dusted in a weekend :D

ive been to try and collset the engine tonight and my sprinter van with all its seats and bog and everything aint bloody big enough so im going back tommorow with a trailer to collect it.

The engine in question is one that has vanos on it will this cause me any aggro with fitting or wiring?

Not as long as it's a runner. I am sure wiring won't be a problem for you. A 5 min walk up the road should answer any issues you have. winkeye

Vanos makes no difference to the wiring at all. It's just a single extra wire contained inside the engine loom, and doesn't go anywhere near the connections to the E30 loom.

Can you take the B20s to 86mm too or are they all out at 84?

I must take my M50b25 that I blew the head on apart to see if I can do something with it at some stage just for the shits and giggles as I have an M52 crank

M52 is the alloy block mate. M50's are all steal I think?
The early M50 mine is none vanous the latter M50 93 on i think are single vanous.

At dave_m3 never you mind about 86mm bores in am M50. That's my thing

it wasn't the gearbox that was the problem it was how wide the engine is with the inlet manifold on bastard thing. I'm hoping to became supervisor soon at work then i will get a new Astra van i hope as the other van are the Peugeot partner vans and they are crap unless your a midget much more useful.

Who knows... knowing me, I might be tempting faith and making a 87mm bore M42

I'm sure I'll make a build thread once I get a few more bits together so you can see exactly
