Turned 163k yesterday although I was running it for about a month with the odometer broken which included Norwivh to Leeds and back and Norwich to Bristol and back so nearer 164k.
An interesting poll would be average yearly milages as this compensates for a potential age difference in cars.

151,000 or so now. Still going strong, well stronger than the wheel bearings at the mo
This make me laugh tho......
151000 miles at an average of 25mpgs, based on 90p per litre is........
Ԛ£30,200 of fuel gone through her!
Or 27180 litres or 6040 gallons!
(please correct my maths if I've got that wrong

151000 @ 25mpg = 6040 gallons, you were right there.
6040 gallons = 27458 litres, you were nearly right there...
27458 litres @ 90p/l = Ԛ£24712.20
that means the government have made Ԛ£18040 in tax from your car !

Or you could just divide km by 1.6 straight away. Actaully I thought it was 1.61 but I could be wrong. Multiply miles by 1.61 to go the other way.E30Mark wrote:to convert KM to miles,Stevin wrote:Not sure how many miles i've done.
but I've done 302 159km
Divide 302159 by 8 = 37769.9 & times by 5 = 188850 miles

My 325i (I voted on this) has 145,500 miles...has had a head gasket around 120K, but all other bits are original (other than service bits, of course)
The M3 has 146K Km...so around 91K miles
Both are young, in mileage terms...
I had an e28 525i that had 200K+ miles when I sold it...was still running strong at that point.
Also had an e34 530i (M30) with 230k miles...running perfectly on ALL original parts when it became a ball of scrap on the M4 (ooops!)
Also sold an 1802 (M10) some years back...had over 250K km on the clock and, AFAIK, is still running over 10years later (I rebuilt the engine at around 180K km, though....but only needed shells/rings/hone/skim/guides)
I also know of at least one e34 (a 525i) with nearly 500K miles and no bottom end rebuild....

It's not uncommon.....
Adam318i that's a stupidly low amount of miles!

I do that in about 2.5 months - make the most of the insurance!

I think that would be more realistic.JoeP wrote:An interesting poll would be average yearly milages as this compensates for a potential age difference in cars.

Mine had averaged 8125 miles a year when I bought it.
I'm averaging 14,875 a year in it at the moment.
The car has now averaged 8750 miles a year.
I guess that this still qualifies as low mileage for a car registered on 01 Jan '91. (Assuming that the accepted average annual mileage is 10,000.)

Surely unless your lucky enough to have a one or two owner car with less than ,say 100,000miles, fsh,etc the mileage becomes irrelevant on an older car that hasa had most of it's components changed ?
Take mine foe example,91,H-reg sport, excellent bodywork, interior, engine rebuild, new shocks, springs, tyres, bushes and just about everything else.Only a few bits left with that mileage on.Especially on a few grands worth of car ?
Or i have i got it wrong?
Paul
