then its up to you then chris cause you know him well, suggest to him to sod off writin on my posts!! cheers, end of matter!!
You want a moderator who is local to you on your side? Please...

I've made it completely transparent to you that I know the other party personally, but apparently that declaration isn't enough for you.

Can I make it crystal clear for you - this forum does not tolerate racist comments, no matter how much of pain in the arse you find someone.

OK?

E30 M3's only ever came from the factory in LHD form, but that's been said already. May well have been an "official" run of 50 converted cars by Birds or A.N.other BMW main dealer, either way, after 10 years involved in E30 M3's, it's the first time I've heard of one with an official plaque and certificate?? But who's to say it ain't so??

Either way - plaque and cert mean nothing to be honest, it's a RHD car so will be worth less than the equivelent LHD version. The steering rack used in any proper RHD conversion is from a 325 - it isn't as quick lock to lock as the M3 one. Also, to fit the RHD rack, the car had to have a different/modified exhaust manifold (the rack runs through it or very close to it I think, so they had to move some pipes around)

With that said, if it's a mint car, buy it and don't car about LHD/RHD debates - a mint car is worth money no matter what side the wheel is on, and if you keep it mint, you could pay to have it converted back to LHD, and probably make a profit still by selling it to the Yanks in a few years time when they can start to legally inport the Euro spec cars.....

As far as I know, no-ones ever done a direct comparison between a properly converted RHD car and a LHD car, probably because the age of the vehicles now would make it almost impossible to get two identical cars with the same wear/power etc. in the engine/suspension/chassis and so on.

I suspect if you could, the extra half a turn lock to lock of the steering (or whatever the difference is) and the few BHP and ft/lbs of torque that are lost through the modded manifold....would make next to no difference at all in the real world.

If it really is as good as you say, then that FAR outweighs the conversion thing (IMHO) as these cars can be absolute money pits if you get a bad one (they are 20+ yrs old now....) - Old cliche, but buy on condition unless you really are one of the absolute purists....

and then.....Enjoy - just been out in mine tonight for a quick blat - first time she's been out this year, warmed her up carefully, then put my foot down a little bit.......still grinning now.... :D

Locking this - can't see a reason to leave it otherwise. Any complaints, let me know.
