My mate had bad experience with his one. It came with the car when he bought it and had it parked inside his garage and one night it decided to start it self and he left it in gear and guess what....?

Hmmmm,
We supply and install various remote start systems all the time...
If you use a Clifford Avante Gaurd 5.5 ( This is a Concept 650 but with all the sensors included and an Intellistart4 module ) Your Thatcham / insurance accreditation will remain intact as this system was presented by 'Directed Electronics' to Thatcham for evaluation WITH the IS4 included, therefore, the system as a whole unit has the Thatcham evaluation number. How-ever it MUST be supplied and installed by a VSIB accredited installation company. If you buy one yourself off ebay for example and have it fitted (even by a VSIB listed company) you CAN NOT claim Thatcham accreditation. A cheaper alternative ( still manufactured by Directed Electronics ) would be the Hornet which also comes with a smart little remote pager, but you'll pay extra for the sensors and It doesn't have Thatcham accreditation. If installed correctly, either system will keep the alarm armed on the door, boot and bonnet circuits but turn of all other sensors allowing you to operate remote start with the alarm still on. Breaking in through any of these points will trigger the alarm and shut the car down. If the alarms off with car unlocked but remotely running, as soon as the bonnet is opened or the brake pedal pushed, the car will cut out.
Hope this helps ? We like remote start ! especially on cold mornings... As for the law ??? Directed is an American brand so not designed with UK legal requirements in mind. We still fit loads though !

No catalogues mate, sorry... Every thing we do is a bit individual so its difficult to have a 'standard' catalogue.robbo86 wrote:Autosparx, your not a million miles away from me. Do you have a catalogue or anything like that?
We are auto electricians so fitting alarms is 'eyes shut' stuff really, but were boys who like toys so if we think were likely to get some praise on a forum we'll usually try to include some F.O.C extras !
Amongst our cars, we have an 04 plate ST220 mondy, weve 'played' with the factory Cat 1 on that and as a result, when you press the boot button on the factory remote twice... Hey presto ! she starts ! And our local dealer said it couldn't be done ! We like a challenge. Pop in for a coffee if your passing mate, Check out our latest project... 1989 RHD M3 conv resto !

Afraid I never pass in an appropriate vehicle mate, the next time I will, you will be shut. My car isnt really anything special, but I would like a decent alarm for that extra peice of mind to be honest.
