webuyanycar is Carcraft.
I was closely involved with a rival operation that only dealt in 'proper' cars for a year or so. The tales of people being offered silly money for their cars, then a better offer as a trade in, traipsing to Carcraft and the offer being halved 'after inspection' were too many to mention.
Another little thing about Carcraft. You know when you go to their sites they have the security guard and the barrier. The guard writes your reg on a little slip when you go in? They HPI your car there and then. Then when you fill in the little form to say what kind of car you're after they do a credit check on you, niiiiiice!
If you're ever bored, go to Carcraft in a hire car. Tell 'em you're interested in a nice 535d or something, give 'em a blag name. Take a friend who's 'just there to browse'. When you arrive they'll be all over you like a rash with coffee etc. This is the ideal time for your browsing buddy to wander away and watch from a distance. After a couple of minutes there'll be someone hovering behind you making not so subtle signs to the salesman who's dealing with you, a couple of minutes later you'll be there... all alone.... They're on to you....
I went for an interview to work for Carcraft a few years ago. When they told me about this I walked out. It's immoral and quite probably illegal. Bunch of 'Pendle system' shysters.
