one had been in the country 11 years, the other since 1986, both were as rotten as a carrot, rotten in places you wouldn't believe,
they were never undersealed or had weather protection , simply didn't need it where they were built,
the UK weather can ruin pretty much any car in just a few years even if it has waxoil underseal applied, the day this was imported was the day it started the death sentance !
even the japs refuse SA e30's for use in toaster manufacture !!
my money is on Barry being right, rather than waste it on the Grand national !!bss325i wrote:

it need saving thats for sure ! anyone got a spare 10k + the purchase price to throw at it ?
I can't believe I missed this epic thread. Clearly the car needs saving and I know from both side what you're all trying to say, 333 thinks his car is worth a fortune because it is a rare model but where it falls down is, it has no provenance, I'm presuming (a trail of who's owned it, and a record of everything done where and when) plus the fact that it is going to need a full strip down to be save, engine/box rebuild, the interior being a bit odd (doesn't seem to fit the car) and a couple have already said 8 and 10 bags which I think is about right hence why the very low offers - even then, will it be worth £12k when it's done?
If you've been offered 3k for it snap the victims hand off because (without trying to offend you) it's not worth that.
I'd give you £1500 for it, don't worry about MOT, I'll sort it out in 12 months when it's been rebuilt.

Same here. I assumed it was a made up title like 350i for people who dropped a five litre into a 3 series.Cypriotgeeza wrote:Im embarrased to say i didnt even know a 333 E30 existed![]()
It'd be nice to see this fully (and properly) restored though, although that'd cost plenty dollah.

Trying to be all subtle and coy in here won't work.
There are people who will be interested in buying your car.
Just be upfront and tell them what you want for it. It's yours, you bought it - obviously because you thought it would make you money. You know what you paid for it, you know what you'll accept for it, stop beating about the bush and state your price. You then might find that you'll get it sold.

Nothings up with them, i just meantioned it as i previously said with the 333i you had to choose between A/C or PAS.333i wrote:i also have all the owners book including a fsh book up to 175k km (now done 200km)
and whats up with the ac pipes ???
It's a hard car to value because really, the 333i wasn't that good. The 3.2 M30 is a lazy old pig and you won't be pulling away from a really good 325i anytime soon.
They're a bit of a nothing car but I doubt that one needs a full rebuild. Given that a good one is worth £7k tops, one in need of work is £3500* worth. It would break to £3000 easily enough but if it can be restored enough to make it sound, tidy and useable for less than £1500 then it's not a bad project.
As ever, you'd need to have a good, close look at it. It could be absolutely ratfucked or surprisingly solid.
*Not of my money. I've driven two and been less than amazed.

Surely the first thing on the list would be an M30b35? Or would you find burning alpina badges on your lawn?

I don't really agree with that as value isn't related to how good the car is/was. This has been illustrated in here recently with various members scratching their heads at the fact that mint Escort RS2000's have been changing hands for more money than mint e30 M3's. It's all about demand and, while you're far far more informed on the demand (or lack of) for a car like this, your argument might stand.....just not for the reason you stated.Andyboy wrote:It's a hard car to value because really, the 333i wasn't that good.
Is the alpina digital guage in good working order?

Right. I've steered clear of this thread as without seeing the car, no one can value it. Full stop. But I'd want that passengers side skirt off ASAP as this:

When really prodded about, may look like this:

Which once you pull the skirt off and attack with a hammer, rapidly turns into:

My money is on this car being a resto project for the serious only.
