So after 800 mile round trip I was checkin the beast over and found the forward rear exhaust hanger ( attached to the end silencer ) had split and lost its cradle.

Cleaned up the area a bit, time to get the welder out, new bracket 8 quid.

I have these on mine and although it`s not OEM, they are much better than stock.

Well it looks like I'm going to be just another Brexit disaster.

With the ever tightening of legislation in both the UK and the EU ( god didn't it used to be so easy?) I'm now in a position where I have
to let the old gal go.

It's impossible to keep the car here in Germany any longer, I'm not interested in trying to "export" the beast and make it German, too expensive, complicated, probably needs a CAT fitting,
and I'd prefer the car to remain English with its original number plate.....

The insurance is getting harder with restrictions all over the place so all in all its time to sell up and move on.

So this is the end of the road, and this little journey "and we're off" is now over, apart from the long repatriation trip sometime in February/March.

When the snow is gone I'll take a few pictures, but I guess my uploads on the forum give an idea of the car, but i'll create an add at some point.

Now this doesn't mean I'm done with E30's, there's plenty here in good shape, but bloody hell they're pricey - anyhoo, lets see what occurs -

Sad times somehow, bless the politicians and Brexiteers, Brussels, EU et AL. for their unending will to make ordinary peoples lives miserable and tie them up in red tape, never thought i'd see the day when Brits have to pay for a bloody visa to go to France or vice versa - bummer!

What a sad end to this chapter. But alas, the book is not finished yet.
How you can find a good one over there.

Paul so very sorry to learn of your decision to sell the old gal.
I’ve taken great pleasure over the years following your travels throughout Europe, & marvelled at the great distances you & her have achieved.
I’m sure I speak for many others on here, that your posts will be sadly missed.
You state some of the reasons that have formed your decision to sell her are legislation, not being able to keep the car in Germany & insurance difficulties. Would you care to explain to us what these particular problems are .
Take care Paul & hope you get back onto the zone again in the not too distant future.
Cheers Minesapint.

Sad to see another e30 get sold, seems to be a trend on here. Is importing it to Germany really that bad? I'm an American so I'm not sure how TUV works for older vehicles but here everything is exempt from emissions inspection after it turns 25. If it's going I hope you can find a nice German one to replace it!

Thanks you' all !!

Well the car is still here, had a new windscreen fitted on the old insurance before it runs out!

Gonna fit a new cambelt/water pump as I have a set in the garage and it's getting towards 40 k since last change.

After that it'll be the last drive UK bound to go up for sale, it'll be in the midlands somewhere.

Happy Easter chaps

Paul:-)
