Unlucky Peter, I heard you talking about it at Drem, it could have been a good buy for you.

I'd have given Al £650 too if he'd bought it back.

It's not over yet gents, my guess, as previous, is that it'll end up on the Copart site in Whitburn for auction.

I've got access to 2 people with Copart accounts winkeye

Let me know if I can help.

the car is ruined no value left for it now its gone through insurance. No matter how low the miles, how mint, the massive history file, the polished arch liners! Shes still on the register and its max value now is not its buy it back price of £650. Shame but you'd of taken it on the chin and fixed her up if it was me. Unless its more than panel damage then your throw the towel in

They generally start at scrap price - £80 or so.

I believe that there are zoners in Scotland who have access to Copart's breakers so I suggest keeping any thoughts of exactly what you'd pay for it off the public forums if you are interested in bidding for it.

it will probably excape Copart and go to their sister operation U-Pull It in Inverkeathing, which is even better news for the frag followers as buying bits off that car will cost buttons.

There's no way Copart will pay your insurers £650 for it, more like £150

Glad to hear you got a good settlement though

U-pull-it is not always a cheap way to go. I got a price of £600 to spend a day fragging a smashed up 325i Cab on an H plate, the interior, roof and exterior panels were wrecked so I told them to stuff it.

The wheels and centres were just refurbished and I advised him to take the centres off the car to avoid them going missing in the yard it was heading to. He'll have the history, drop him a PM.

£360 is a very good price, even though it's a Cat C.

Add a grand WTF.
It's no use to the previously owner is it. He got a payout he was happy with.
The new owner has bought it fair and square why would he have to buy the history? I think that would be a c*nts trick to ask for money for a few receipts.

Oooooooooo is gonna cost ya!
I have the full history and all MOT's and an inch thick of paperwork dating back to 1991 of all parts bought and fitted to the car.
The BBS caps are the same as the wheels, and 3 are perfect, with the other one in bits. The headunit for the Blaupuinkt stereo is here too and in perfect working condition.
You have PM mate!
Glad it's getting saved - It really is/was a beautiful car!

I'd hand it all over for the cost of postage, its good news that car is coming back to the road. I happen to like white tourings :)

I'd certainly hand over the history and associated bumf for postage costs (despite the insurance company asking for all of this when we settled), but if the new owner wants the matching BBS caps, Mtech1 wheel, blaupunkt stereo face and other wee bits and bobs (leather gaiters, mtech gearknob, torch, wheel chock etc), then I'd like to come to some arrangement - I'm close to putting it all on eBay and suspect that i'd get at least £150 for the lot, so if he wants it he can give me a shout, i've pm'ed him my number.

Hi Lee,
Never thanked you for the advice - Much appreciated! That's what makes this site the best of its kind! Great fella's and very helpful info/advice at the click of a few buttons!
I'm on the look out for another similar condition E30 and would hope to get one relatively soon, however i'm thoroughly enjoying the E28 at the minute, so we'll see how things go!

I think that this could be right - This is the most extensive history i've ever seen for a car, and it would change it from an unknown Cat C into something much more sellable - If the work on the car is done correctly with geniune parts and is systematically recorded with pics etc, then I would be more than happy to pay £2000 for it, and so, I suspect would many others
