i was umming and arring, plus being a student i would have pennies left to live off.jonb wrote:Why didnt you press the 'buy it now' button then?thesaint wrote:i wanted that one!![]()
A weapon for not much money. Nice one spadge.

the above one has been on 3 times which has made me a bit wary, only a 3.6 as well, anyone had a look at it?
1986 325i - Gone. 1993 318i touring, m52 in the planning stages.
if you're a student and on a tight budget then I wouldn't suggest an e34 m5, costs can be high and its no e30 and being an M brings with it more to look after and schedules to keep to, you miss anything of importance then you risk the mechanical aspect of the car. Cheap to buy doesn't equate really to cheap, but can also mean there's big bills looming...
why do you say 'only' a 3.6? just as good in the real world as the 3.8!

Optimist = financially challenged individual who thinks he can run /maintain properly an E34 M5 on a shoestring.
3.8 is a much better car than a 3.6 but even more of a financiakl black hole !
How does £750 per shock grab you ?

Well i picked-up the M5 this morning and as expected it goes well
I can't believe the amount of money thats been spent on it in the past few years there a literaly thousands of pounds worth of bills
I suspect the front arms or bushes may need doing as its a little wandery compared to the e30's i usually drive but this will be sorted when i get the urge
Not getting the response from genuine buyers of the Alpina that i expected and the few that wanted to buy it off me when i first bought it seem to have gone all quiet now its officialy for sale
I'll give it a week or so and then if its still for sale make you lot all hate me and start selling off the Alpina stuff and put it back to how it first left the BMW factory

Wash your mouth out with soapAndyboy wrote:Get it fragged! LSD, head/cam, Zorst, Alpina wheels, plaque etc all add up to over a grand and the car is still worth £1500 as a tidy 325i Auto Touring.
Or you could put all the Alpina bits onto a nice 325i 2 door.
Its sold and is getting collected on Weds

So you know what i paid for it?suzie650 wrote:Well, if you sold it at the price it's advertised on pistonhead anyway...
If not, discard the remark.
British rail gave me a free rail ticket to go and get it?
BP gave me free fuel to bring it home?
BMW gave me free parts to fix a few things?
The new m.o.t its getting tomorrow is free?
My time etc etc...
You have no idea what i sold it for or the deal i have done so kindly mind your own business please!

just to lay this one to rest.
Alpina RLE engine bay with 57miles on the clock. As you can see it's clearly not black, but more of a gun metal

And here's my engine, with a few more miles under it's belt!

I have bought this, and intend to sort the little things and keep it very original and deffinatly a touring..
Drove it home in the pooring rain, I am very impressed by the solidness of the car, suspension is hard but I like it.
It is a very clean car for its age, it will be mint again..
I have quite a lot of bits already and have just ordered some additional bits to finish it off. I have a black alpina style rocker cover already so this will work for me, I have alpina stipes in silver already, almost as if I knew I would get a black car next.
Just hope this feckin rain stops long enough for me to get started on it.
Ill post more as I get chance.
placed order for a new number plate today that council one has to go.
if anybody wants a cheap plate please contact me.
Here starts another project.
