Yeah that does not suprise me either.With main dealer rates it was bound to be around the 2k mark.For the £700 excess you would have to pay is it not worth just putting that towards the car and repairing it yourself without using the insurance.I know it may be the principle but if it were me i think id say sod it and chuck the £700 at it out of my own pocket and be done with all the paper work and hassle as well.
Im not particualrly suprised by the price.
The way I'm thinking is, I may as well get the car repaired with a new original wing, bumper and skirt and sprayed to a high standard- that aint a bad deal for £700 is it? And if it is written off I wont do too badly either. So why would I repair it on the cheap and have it looking a bit tatty still? I will be hard pushed to repair the car to a high standard for much less than £700. There is also still the chance that the 3rd party will have to pay my excess anyhow.
